Soon available

EK Water Blocks have shown their upcoming Gigabyte Z270X-Gaming 7 monoblock that will take care of both motherboard VRM and CPU water cooling thanks to a huge single water block. Since the Gigabyte Z270X-Gaming 7 is a high-end ATX motherboard, it is quite predictable that this motherboard could be part of some water cooling project.

New design

Looking at the Z270 line-up from ASUS quite a few things have change compared to the past and one of those things is the “ROG STRIX” series. There is now a complete lineup of STRIX Gaming motherboards and one of those is the ROG STRIX Z270I Gaming, which is mini-ITX board that features a new design and RGB lighting.

Geo-blocking practices

The European Union has opened an Antitrust investigation against Valve to find out if the company is taking part in geo-blocking actions within Europe. Also Bandai Namco, Capcom, Focus Home, Koch Media and ZeniMax are being part of the investigation.

With PLX chip

The Z270-WS from ASUS is a high-end motherboard that comes with a few interesting features. Compared to the previous model, which goes by the name Z170-WS, we see a similar color scheme but a reworked layout and more connectors. This motherboard is designed for workstation or content creation system, in other words the feature set will be a bit different from what we’re seeing on Maximus and Strix series boards.

Modder Crow

Today we have another great looking build from Modder Crow to show to you. In the past we’ve shared several of his builds and as you might remember he’s really taking the modding part to the extreme.

SR3, SR5, SR7

Today appears to be a day on which a ton of information about AMD’s upcoming Ryzen CPUs leaks into the internet. After new speculation on the lineup and the official launch date we’ve come across actual model names and clock speeds.

Rumors, rumors and more rumors

Lately a discussion has started that AMD might not show six core Ryzen CPUs but meanwhile the guys over at iO-Tech suggest that AMD's CCX (CPU Complex) design would allow to very easily come up with hexa core chips.

According to AMD

AMD has announced that their Ryzen CPUs will arrive by the beginning of March. Since the NDA will expire end of February, the new announcement from Lisa Su makes perfect sense. There is a massive hype around AMD’s Zen architecture lately and judging by the amount of leaks and rumors the entire tech industry is eagerly waiting for these new chips to be launched.

Still on track

AMD has announced that their first Vega-based GPUs will become available during the second quarter 2017, somewhen between May and June. This is definitely good news for anyone who’s been waiting for new high-end AMD GPUs. Unfortunately there aren’t any new details on the architecture or the performance.

Still no fix for Battlefield 1 for GTX 700 series cards

A few weeks ago we have reported on a critical bug in Battlefield 1, which occurs in combination with GTX 700 series cards, in particular on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770. Although NVIDIA published several driver updates following the launch of Battlefield 1 there isn't still a fix for this game. According to the release notes, the GeForce 378.57 driver update fixes a critical bug in combination with Minecraft.

RGB All-in-one

During CES 2017, EVGA has shown a new all-in-one water cooler for CPUs. While we have already seen all-in-one liquid cooling units from EVGA with their Hybrid series graphics cards, it's the first time that the company shows closed-loop water cooler for processors. With their new CLC series EVGA has a unit with 120mm radiator and one with 280mm radiator in its portfolio.

HRC

Today we can show you another build from HRC (High Resolution Computers). In the past we’ve shared several of their builds and as you might know they always look exceptionally good.

But no new models

Also MSI presented upcoming boards but there were no new models we’ve not yet written about. Due to a leak a few weeks ago we already know that MSI will offer the X370 XPower Gaming Titanium and the B350 Tomahawk. Nevertheless MSI has mentioned to create gaming grade motherboards based on AMD’s X370, B350 and A320 chipset.

One of the six Aorus socket AM4 motherboards

Aorus, which is a subdivision of Gigabyte, showcased their GA-AX370-Gaming 5 motherboard during yesterday’s Meet the Experts event that was hosted by AMD. Gigabyte didn't show any close-up shots but they were talking about the features. The new Aorus series will consist of at least six X370 based models and apart from that there will also be B350 and A320 chipset based boards.

Both based on AMD X370 chipset

During AMD’s Meet the Experts webinar yesterday evening, ASUS has unveiled several details on their upcoming AMD AM4 300-series motherboards. Although ASUS only showcased two motherboards both are based the X370 chipset, but apparently they will also release B350 and A320 based products as well. Compared to the old motherboards based on AM3+ or FM2+ we can definitely tell there are several significant upgrades in terms of design and features.
