After post a worklog picture before.. I realize that something missing.
Damn… I forget to make GPU mount So reassemble the wings and make a cut for it.


I’m not really satisfied with the strength of this wings, either I use 8mm Acrylic for it.
So I decided to make 3 layer for the wings, Inside will use 1mm aluminum and outside 4mm acrylic.
Start with 1mm Aluminum


Use a special saw blade for alu.. the “goldie” one at the left is for aluminum.


Result









Then for the 3 layer, 4mm Acrylic..red










Assemble both together, now the thickness is 13mm..
Well.. this will strong enough and not going to break easily since aluminum will be the “bone” for the wings


If still had time I will put some backlight into this wings.

I see the dragon looks too flat .. so I decided to give some “skin” for more texture at the surface.



At the first attempt I put artificial skin with alligator texture..
but I see there is way too much detail on it..
Then I change the imitation leather with dotted texture who not to “crowded” with the design.


Result…




Some good thing happens..
Dremel give me some Interesting tools, thankfully all the tools they give very useful for me.


The tools helping me a lot in this project.






I’m heading to the back light now.. Stay tuned.. the mod getting more excited
