X99 restart alone #1
Hello guys, I'm having some weird issue on Intel X99 and let's see if someone has few idea.

First of all system is stock with ram XMP and nothing more (memtest 86+ passed 300%). Temperature are okay and pressure on socket is not too much. BIOS version on my ASRock X99m Fatality is the last one 1.60 and windows drivers are up to date (fresh install).

Sometimes if I log into Windows and I restart, then the rig turn off and restart again it self. This happens only after POST and before/or while is loading Windows. I checked on Google and I havent find solution but there are other guys in my same situation. Any idea? Looks like an "overclock failure" but like I said..I'm stock so should be stable.

Maybe something about Cstate?

Re: X99 restart alone #3
I will do some more test since I have read that could be the SSD. On ASUS forum someone says that "AE" error is SSD missing or so, since I have Sandforce SF-22xx SSD that is "famous" for its weird behaviour on some sys, I will give a shot!

Friday morning I booted 4 times before logged into Win
It's quite easy, will do a clone with Acronis on a Arc100.

I would also opt for the SandForce SSD and see if that solves the issue.

Re: X99 restart alone #5
It's a Kingston Fury..if I am not wrong was the first series of Sandforce to have problems with the latest Intel socket (eg. Corsair F60 on sata2), but who knows..

Mainboard should be ok, CPU too since is from Hiwa as well as memory so must be something in between like PSU, SSD or even peripherals (its possible, gaming stuff sometimes is shit).

No one on internet with my motherboard have problems, so I think bios is also good enough. I will let you know

My second guess would have been the PSU. Can you tell me the exact model?

Antec Edge 750, never used before so could be also that. I will try also with Fury650 that was perfect on Sandy and should be enough for 5820K+780.

Hiwa told me that cold boot are normal sometimes, but I'm not sure anymore that is a cb, since I see video signal and I reach Windows Loading Logo (the 4 balls of W7)

Nah ... a restart while already booting into Windows is definitely not normal!
