You can have clear tubing even if the water is clear. You would want to use distilled water and ethanol 10/1 mixture. You don't need huge tubing, it would look silly.

I was thinking also about having a clear look more than a heavy and shining one.
I have a friend of mine working as craftsman in a plastics shop so I'm thinking about having a custom res made by him in the way to have it set where I want with the shape I like with like a liter of fluid inside

No need for a huge res! But I like the idea, go for it, just make sure it's 100% water tight!

A bit reservoir can look very nice and it's also very comfortable to bleed the system. You don't need to think too much about leakage. Compression fittings are going to do the job very well.

My intention is to lightly mod the case to accomodate and hidden a slim optical drive, I'd also like to cover the two drive bays on the floor of the case with a plate that hides them and clears out the overall look keeping them accessible.

for the tank I have no concern at all. The biggest part of theyr business are water/fluids tanks for sientific labs and test machineries, I have no further details on it, but I know they also test pressures theyr tanks up to 10 bar to ensure that policarbonate has glued/soldered properly.

they do all the job by request of the customer, so I can have a fill and a drain port just where i want them, and the back of the case looks to me a pretty darn good place where to hide them and still have them accessible. (BTW if someone is intrested I can give the contacts of the shop)

let's move on to the fittings.
ok, for the compression ones. they look clear and tidy as I want them to look. is there a brand that 'does it better?'

Pump:
a standalone one, no integrated solutions so that it can be replaced or inspected without draining the whole loop. following this logic I would like to have a (tap?) both over and after the pump to be able to isolate it.
I don't need a top notch one, but the closer we get to 'top notch' the happier I am, so, performance and reliability. moneys are made to be spent and I prefer a most durable solution than a cheaper one.
there are too many different products of this kind on the market to just pick one. what's your piece of advice about it?

thank you all
Jes
