Re: S3 Monster ITX Build #61
Did a little testing last night on the li'l monster....I'm really not happy with the temps at all. I am idling with fans at 100% at about 36-38 degrees across all of the cores with an ambient of about 22C. Water temps are about 27.5C. I also have to say that I am really unhappy with the noise these fans make. Put up against a rad, they are really loud, so they will be switched out to either AP-15s or something else...

I'm going to remount the CPU block when I change out the fans....

In the meantime, here are a few photos of it sitting in the office...

I'm sorry about that, I have AP-29 and are very loud ..I hope that AP-15 are silent.

Both sides with windows is awesome! Specially if there is a so neat cable management

Just when you think it is almost done...It begins again!

Got 512GB of pure beauty in the mail today! I decided to go with this over the Seagate 600 and the Sandisk Extreme II after considering real world performance, reviews, warranty, and I got an amazing deal on this one!

Re: S3 Monster ITX Build #65
Thanks Rewarder!

To be honest, I had pretty much decided I was going to get the Sandisk Extreme II....I ordered a Denon AVR-1913 for my office and a Denon AVR-4520CI for my home theater a few days ago...I was able to talk them into throwing this in for a ridiculously low price...so I decided to go with this one...xD

SSD Bracket

I decided I wanted to use a Himuro-Mini for the SSD to keep with the same look of the larger Himuro for the HDD.

Going to turn this into a bracket:

Still have to drill the holes for the backside...

Test fit...still have a bit of straightening to do, but I'm happy with it! After straightening, it will go to paint this evening...

Re: S3 Monster ITX Build #68
Bonus Update!

As a lot of you know, I wasn't too happy with my temps and I think it was due to a bad mount on the CPU block...I took it a step further today!

First up was to drain the loop...

After pulling the top rad, CPU block, and the CPU...needed to grab a few handy tools...

IHS pops right off. I figured I would use this method since I'm more accurate with a hammer than with a razor blade...
