The Evolution chassis from Cougar carries a commendable design concept. Installing all the components into the chassis left us with plenty of room to move around internally, and the removable and tool less drive trays make installing any type of drive rather simple.
Cougar has sent a chassis they believe is "the ideal foundation for a professional gaming system packed with high-end hardware". It's time to see if they are right.
Today at XtremeComputing we are reviewing the Evolution Mid-Tower Case, from Cougar. Cougar are a brand I’ve not personally heard of, so let’s find out a bit more about them.

The MX500 promises to be a case with a gaming centric design and the capability to handle just about any ATX/mATX setup you could want to throw at it with an array of possible drive setups. With the promise or flexibility and expandability the MX500 looks to target gamers and ever since we got our hands on their Vortex PWM fans we knew Cougar was capable of making quality products. Let’s see if they can continue to impress us.
Cougar's MX500 is a Mid-Tower case with a sleek and modern style that's aimed at gamers. The MX500 measures in at 8.3 inches wide, by 18.7 inches tall and 18.9 inches deep. It will hold seven HDDs and a 300mm video card, or you can adjust the top HDD cage to fit three SSDs and a 330mm long video card, or ditch it all together for a massive 410mm of GPU clearance. The motherboard tray has a cutout for after-market CPU coolers and rounded cutouts to pass through cables behind the tray.
Cougar has been launching some pretty incredible products recently, from their stunning range of gaming peripherals, which includes great keyboards and mice, as well as their chassis products. While you may have recently read our Cougar Evolution chassis review, Cougar are better-known as a manufacturer of Power Supplies. Currently, they only have 5 cases on the market; the Cougar Solution, Volant, 6XR9, Evolution and the Evolution Galaxy. The Cougar Solution Chassis was introduced at the beginning of this year, and is marketed as a high-performance Midi tower for the budget enthusiast.
