The available standards for smaller PC cases such as the Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX and Mini-DTX standards are nothing new, but lately things have started to happen in this segment. Previously VIA was more or less the only manufacturer for CPUs and motherboards for the ITX standard. Today we are going to look at the Corsair Obsidian 650D Mid-Tower case which is the smallest model in the Obsidian range. It shares the same styling cues as the larger 700D and 800D cases but comes in at a much more affordable price point. It doesn’t look like Corsair have compromised much on the feature set to achieve this lower price, though, so we are excited to look at the case in more detail.

The more I played with the NZXT Phantom, the more I liked it. The white finish with its black accents really makes this case stand out from the crowd and the roomy interior was a joy to work in thanks to the excellent cable management.
Cougar's MX500 is a Mid-Tower case with a sleek and modern style that's aimed at gamers. The MX500 measures in at 8.3 inches wide, by 18.7 inches tall and 18.9 inches deep. It will hold seven HDDs and a 300mm video card, or you can adjust the top HDD cage to fit three SSDs and a 330mm long video card, or ditch it all together for a massive 410mm of GPU clearance. The motherboard tray has a cutout for after-market CPU coolers and rounded cutouts to pass through cables behind the tray.

Bevor sich die entsprechende Abteilung selbstständig machte und nun unter SilverStone Technology bekannt ist, hat der Hersteller bereits vor einer Dekade edle Tower aus Aluminium angeboten und diese mit dem Label ATCS „Active Thermal Convection System“ vermarktet.
Appearance is the strongest suit of the SilverStone Grandia GD07. Nothing fits into a fashionable home theater setup as well as a nicely finished dark aluminum front plate, free of everything that shows up on the face of a typical PC. The GD07 also offers functionality at the extreme end of the HTPC market. Generous drive capacity, ability to handle multiple full-length video cards, and compatibility with eATX motherboards puts it way over the top. Flexible options for system airflow, with both down draft and horizontal CPU coolers as viable choices, expand the range of suitable components. This is not a PC case that Benchmark Reviews would recommend for a folding farm, but for extreme HTPC use it performs far above most alternatives. For those that want to have all their main storage integrated into their HTPC and/or want to do some serious gaming on the big screen in the family room, this is one of the very few cases that can do that in style.
