Lian Li is a name that’s synonymous with high quality. If you know the name then you know that their stuff is not what one would call inexpensive at all. The price though is well worth it when it comes to the top quality in construction, design and functionality you’ll get when you purchase a Lian Li product. Today for review I have one of their new USB 3.0 enclosures, just named the EX-103. It’s not exactly what we think of when you mention enclosure though, it’s not quite portable, it’s meant more to sit on your desk than travel with you. I believe that majority of computer enthusiasts want a case that has had plenty of thought put into it. Small features that make system builder's life easier, and manageable interior space that makes for a clean build. Thermaltake continually makes improvements on their cases and they put more thought in each new release. One of their latest is the Armor A90.
I'm sure by now you are all tired of my Antec 900 stories, but here they actually apply. I never did get to look at the 1200 from Antec, so the 900 is as close as my eyes can get to a comparison. Out of the box my 900 was loud at full speed, but it did offer some of the best air flow for any case at that time. According to most reviews, the 1200 offered all of that plus a bit more room for a cleaner build. More fans, better wire management and more room made the 1200 a very functional full tower chassis compared to the cramped accommodations I was used to in the 900.
The ominous and looming Dark Fleet of cases from Antec have arrived. This new line brings a much different look from previous high-end designs like the Hundred series. The DF-85 is a full size ATX case with plenty of room for cable management and includes some special features. It also has a red and black design which is always a plus.
Over the past few years NZXT have released 3 variations of their Sentry line of fan controllers. The first 2 models were front mounted inside a case which often meant cables everywhere. Today we have their first external fan controller the Sentry LXE in the KitGuru labs. Now that we have affordable unlimited internet in Belgium, the need for storage has grown. Of course you can fill your computer with hard disks, or to make it easier to share you can buy a bunch of external disks. But in my opinion a dedicated solution for storage, such as a NAS would be more practical. In this review we'll be taking a look at some solutions.
