Antec are one of my favourite brands in the PC industry, I've been an avid user of their various power supplies, water coolers and cases for many years, and while I don't use their products exclusively, I've always got a few of them put to good use on at least one of my systems. There is a good reason for that too, as from my experience Antec has always provided some of the best value for money and excellent build quality when it comes to components and those are two qualities that I will be looking for in today's review of the GX700 chassis.
The GX700 is Antec's latest low-mid budget chassis design and priced at around £60.00 its certainly entering the most competitive part of the chassis market, as around this price range you're not exactly short of options in terms of features, designs and for factors. low-mid budget is the biggest sector and year on year we're finding that manufacturers are cramming more and more high end features in a budget friendly solution to stay competitive with rival brands. Sure you're not going to get all the bells and whistles that you would find on a £100+ high end chassis, but its easy to find nearly all of them in one form or another for half the money and looking at the specifications below, it seems Antec has tried just that.
Plenty of room for cooling, including a space for a 240mm radiator, large CPU coolers and graphics cards, 7 expansion slots for multi-GPU setups and cable management, all the big stuff is here, so lets take a closer look at what the GX 700 has to offer and see just how far a budget of £60 really goes.

The Spire X2 120mm PWM fan runs between 600 and 1500 RPM and is practically inaudible with noise levels between 10 and 22 dBA. The X2 120mm fan is capable of pushing 62.53 CFM at 1500 RPM while producing 1.74mm H2O of static air pressure. To further reduce noise levels the X2 features removable silicone rubber pads on each of the screw holes. Using their Nano Tech Bearing technology they can increase the fan blade size and achieve a MTBF of 70,000 hours. The X2 120mm PWM fan features four blue LEDS. In addition red LED lighting and 140mm, 92mm, and 80mm sizes are available.

If you've had even a passing interest in computers, there is a good chance that you've heard of Corsair. Corsair has a solid history of producing some of the best computer products on the market that range from SSD hard drives, RAM modules, power supplies and chassis to name but a few. With such a wide product range Corsair have built up an extensive knowledge of what PC users need in their systems and how best to integrate the required hardware, something that has always reflected well in their previous chassis designs, including the ones we've previously reviewed here at eTeknix, such as the 200R, 300R and C70 Vengeance, all of which won eTeknix awards for their design and feature set.

The Silverstone Redline RL04 is one chassis choice on the market and has a mid-tower form factor. The Silverstone RL04 features a plastic and mesh front panel with SECC steel used from the main body of the case. They have priced this to be budget friendly but have some of the aggressive styling that is expected from a higher priced case. The front panel supports four 5.25” drive bays and has two USB 3.0 ports, a microphone jack, and headphone jack. Cooling is designed to use positive pressure with a single 120mm fan as intake in the front of the case. Removable dust filters are provided for both the bottom PSU vent and the top vents.
