When i hear the name Shinobi it automatically takes me back to a much simpler time when i used to sit in front of the TV playing the loved arcade game on my Sega Megadrive (Genesis). I was the master at throwing death stars i'll have you know. Shinobi is also a term referred to a ninja, hence the game and many films named after it. This time however it refers to a case from Bitfenix which is said to offer up smooth styling and stealthy looks, giving the user room for mass amounts of components whilst keeping effective cooling and connectivity at the top of its list.

Today we have a case from BitFenix on our test bench, the Shinobi. From a range which offers various models to suit different tastes this low cost model has a number of impressive features on paper. Let's find out if BitFenix can find that middle ground between low cost and functionality/performance.
Cases
The BitFenix Shinobi is a nice-looking mid-tower case, with a rubber coating on its plastic parts which helps to avoid fingerprints, dubbed "SofTouch" by the manufacturer. It is available in two versions, either with a tinted transparent side window (USD 70), or with a solid side panel (USD 60). Let's see if the Shinobi is a winner.

BitFenix have made a big move into the chassis market over the past year, starting with the release of the Colossus full tower chassis. Today we are going to look at a mid tower, the BitFenix Shinobi Window version. The Shinobi aims to provide all the high end features at a very affordable price. The Window version offers tool free drive installation and their ‘SoftTouch’ surface designed to fend off nasty finger prints.

Do you like the BitFenix Collosus Venom chassis that we just reviewed recently? If yes then probably you will like BitFenix Shinobi as well. Basically BitFenix Shinobi is a simple and cost down version of BitFenix Colossus but it is still equipped with plenty of great features such as SorTouch surface. Besides that its retail price just costs less than 60USD which is pretty affordable for such quality chassis.

Some system builders will want to create a new PC with up to 7 hard drives, have it booting from an SSD with tool-free accessibility and yet won’t want to spend more than £55 for the experience. If that sounds like you, then BitFenix has been working on a case that might just fit the bill.
Cases
The BitFenix Shadow is a basic case, but has all the important features for most builds. It looks sharp, comes with 2 120mm fans, lots of 3.5" drive days, USB 3 ports, a door at the front, water cooling options, red/blue LED at the front and more. Sweet little affordable case!
