This week I've been able to spend time with the Node 605 HTPC chassis from Swedish manufacturer Fractal Design. We've had a few Fractal Design chassis in for review over the last couple of months, such as the Define R4 and the Node 304 M-ITX chassis, both of which are some of the best in class chassis for their respective sizes and earned our eTeknix Editors Choice Awards.
After using the NZXT Phantom full tower case for the last few weeks I have to say that I am pretty impressed with the quality and the look of it. The way NZXT has made this to be both a user friendly case and appeal to the hardcore enthusiast is a plus in my book. And, the near tool-less design is something that almost everyone can appreciate.
Out of all the Fractal Design cases the one I’ve really wanted to get my hands on has been the Define XL, what can I say I am a fan of big cases. Well Fractal Design has recently revised the Define XL, coming out with the Define XL R2 case. The R2 takes the best parts of the original Define XL case and adds upon it. The Define XL R2 supports large motherboards like E-ATX and XL-ATX, has room for up to 8 hard drives, 4 optical drives, 9 expansions slots, has three included fans with a fan controller and much much more! Did I mention Fractal Design intends this case to be pretty quiet as well. Let’s jump in!

With Raven RV01 SilverStone introduced a new concept on the market: it was the first case where the motherboard is rotated 90º, making the rear connectors to be available on the top part of the case. Without exceptions, when we think of a computer case with a unique design invariable we think of a macho-themed product, usually military-inspired. Sensing that girls were being left behind by the case manufacturers, In Win decided to release Diva, a very (very!) small case and very (very!) girly front panel, featuring a big Swarovski crystal as a power button. While straight guys will hate this case, girls (and probably er… "very happy" guys) will love it. Let's see why.
