NZXT has just released Vulcan, a mini-tower case full of cool features for the gamer that wants to build a small PC.

So what are you supposed to do when the phone rings and your best mates are on the other end with a stack of your old favorite games? Well, you can lug your full tower everywhere you go, or you can start to think portability. There are a couple of things that come to mind when I think portability in chassis design. First, you have to have a way to easily move or carry said chassis, and the second is having the room inside this smaller chassis to build what I like to refer to as a sleeper. That is when you take a chassis and pack quite a bit of PC horsepower into a completely unassuming space, and it sort of surprises others as you peel open the side and show off your goods to your friends.

Up for review today I’ve got the new NZXT Vulcan PC case which is specifically for micro-ATX motherboards only. It’s a rugged and well made gaming chassis that comes complete with sturdy carrying handle to make transporting your system that much easier. Despite it’s size, the Vulcan has plenty of room inside for even large video cards, with room for four hard drives as well along with two 5.25” devices. The Vulcan is a great case truly, I like it very much, so read on to learn a bit more about it..

Looking for a less flash case that is still stylish, functional, and fits in your desk? Need a sensible sized case to contain that power thirsty gaming rig? Then NZXT's VULCAN mid-size tower case is designed for you! From NZXT's crafted series comes the VULCAN, a micro-ATX motherboard case featuring enough space for 2 ATI 5970 graphics cards, 2 CD/DVD drives, up to 4 Hard drives, and up to 5 cooling fans. These features in a mid-tower case will please any computer builder looking for a small case to contain a big system.

Today we have for close examination the latest in NZXT's Crafted series of PC enclosures, the micro-ATX sized Vulcan. Tailored especially for gamers who desire easy portability in more of a standard tower style case rather than the typical cube design, the Vulcan bears a slight resemblance to their Classic series M59 gaming case. It features an angled and hooded front bezel with raised panels on top and sides to accommodate interior components. To make transporting the Vulcan between LAN parties easier, NZXT has sized it smaller than your traditional mid-tower and includes a convenient removable carry handle.

Once I got it all uncovered, I got a good look at this thing. It’s a matte black, which is something I’m fond of in my chassis, and it has that aggressive look that most case companies have been moving toward. Straight edges, sharp corners, and recesses that house buttons and ports that as a whole looks like it could be a cousin to that box from Hellraiser.

Finally, a chassis that is designed for the enthusiast that combines noise dampening features with expandability and storage. Introducing the Whisper silent full tower chassis from NZXT, improving upon the successful of the NZXT HU-001 chassis, the Whisper is another step up from the Hush. Featured in a large size E-ATX Full Tower, the Whisper can support up to NINE hard drives and a total of SIX 5.25"; bays with ample space for large expansion cards. 10mm dampening foams, rubber grommets, and padded PSU holder are some of the major features in silence. The NZXT Whisper is the complete solution for the enthusiast who is not willing to sacrifice silence for performance. Benchmark Reviews recently got a hold of one of these cases and I must say I'm intrigued so now let's just see if the Whisper lives up to it's name or not.
