Most people know NZXT and their Gamer Cases. In this review we will look at the NZXT
Phantom 630 Case with a lot of features and a stylish design.
Cases
Built as a trimmed-down version of the award winning Phantom 820, does NZXT’s Ultra Tower Phantom 630 have what it takes to compete in a circa-£150 case market?
Cases
Some of the first reviews I wrote for Benchmark Reviews were for NZXT cases. Most of these were lower-end cases priced at $75 and under. Although the cases were inexpensive, I was impressed with both the quality of construction and the thought put into their design. Since then, NZXT has moved upmarket, starting with their original Phantom case, which has now become a series of its own. Just introduced is the new Phantom 630 case, the little brother of the Phantom 820 we've seen previously. At an MSRP of $179.99, this is a not an inexpensive case, so let's see if it's worth the money...

While many cases naturally favor air or liquid cooling, the Full Tower NZXT Phantom 630 actually manages to be an incredibly well engineered performance case for both. A unique modular HDD cage system allows the user to configure for optimal airflow, and also allows for components to be built around. Radiator mounts for 240/280mm in the front and bottom, 140mm in the rear and 240/280/360 on the top give liquid coolers vast flexibility. 200mm fans on the front, side and top coupled with a 140mm in the rear give air coolers all the flow they need, while and the modular cages allow for direct flow configurations. The three HDD cages can hold a maximum of six HDD, while two 2.5” SSD can be mounted on the rear of the MB tray.

You can tell that NZXT set lofty goals for itself with the Phantom 630, and it succeeded. This chassis stands above the competition with head and shoulders.

During the last two years PC Case manufacturers seem to have but a single goal in mind and that's to release towers of unprecedented quality, size and features aimed almost entirely towards hardcore gamers, enthusiasts and professionals. Certainly that's a very good thing for consumers especially since never before have we seen the release of overwhelming towers like the massive Corsair Obsidian 0900D, the breathtaking Cooler Master Cosmos II, the elegant Lian Li PC-X2000FN and the modern NZXT Phantom 820 inside such a short period of time. The only downside such dreadnaughts have is their hefty price tags making them extremely hard for the majority of people to own something which every manufacturer out there is well aware. So to cover all consumer segments NZXT has several models in the Phantom line including the Phantom 630 Ultra Tower which they released as the next best thing for people who can't or don't want to spend way over USD200 for the top of the line Phantom 820 Ultra+ Tower. Thus prior to checking out the Phantom 820 Ultra+ Tower we decided to see just what the Phantom 630 Ultra Tower has to offer and then in turn compare it with its larger brother.

Today we have something a little special in the eTeknix office, the brand new Phantom 630 ultra tower from NZXT. Many of you will already be fully award of the existence of this premium grade chassis, especially since it was launched at CES earlier this month and anyone who was following our coverage of the show will have seen some fantastic pictures of this chassis already. NZXT have already gone on to great things with their Phantom and Switch range, their unique style and unrelenting pursuit for chassis performance has caught the eyes of many system builders, enthusiasts and gamers.
