Mini-ITX is definitively one of the bigger sensations of the moment. In 2009, Mini-ITX products were significantly slower than nowadays. The difference between going from an Intel Atom to a Core i7 or Core i5 processor is just huge. But when you're an avid gamer who loves to visit LANs, friends and events, your weapon consists on a (CPU+GPU) combo, and not only a powerful CPU. But where could you put a mid-end or high-end GPU in a mini-ITX case if they only offer half-sized PCI slots (if any) and poor cooling solutions? Thinking about this, Lian-Li has launched their Mini-Q PC-Q08 Aluminum case. This mini tower case features a 300mm maximum video card size, as well as space for 7 storage drives and full ATX PS/2 PSUs for maximum system's performance. Is the Lian-Li PC-Q08B Aluminum Mini Tower PC Case good enough to build a powerful, yet small gaming system? Benchmark Reviews will install a decent gamer's PC inside it and check if it lives up to ! its claims.

The Lanboy Air case is the most recent in a long line of enclosures from Antec. Cases from Antec generally score high points among computer enthusiasts not only for their looks, but also for their ability to keep air moving inside the case. An overclocked PC requires a good case with a lot of air flow in order to keep all the important components safe from overheating. While a low-end PC used mainly for internet or word processing might be fine tucked away in the drawer of a desk and enclosed in the least expensive case you can find, the same is not true of any gaming or enthusiast computer. In this article, Benchmark Reviews takes you on a detailed tour inside and out of Antec's newest case, the Lanboy Air.

In Win's Griffin chassis has a lot going for it. A budget case with good cooling (due in large part to the big side panel fan,) is always good to see and a real boon to the enthusiast with limited funds. With a distinctive look and nice features like a hidden I/O panel and tool-free drive clips, the Griffin delivers a lot of bang for the buck.

The SilverStone Grandia GD05 has taken mATX desktop HTPC cases to a new level. The Grandia gives its owner an incredible amount of flexibility. If you want a powerful graphics card, you have more than enough space to fit one in. If you want to buy a super silent ATX power supply, then go right ahead as it’ll fit. If you need a couple terabytes of space, you have room for two hard drives and even a third if you find a 5.25″ to 3.5″ bay converter. Generally we find HTPC cases making one sacrifice for the benefit of another. Not the case with the GD05.

Arctic Cooling's Freezer 11 LP is a light weight Intel socket 775/1156 heatsink made specifically for low profile and book-sized PC systems of at least 70mm thickness. The heatsink itself stands just 53mm tall, weighs 255 grams and operates very quietly. Although it's 92mm 1200-2000RPM PWM fan is small by normal standards, it is sufficient for the new generation of 95W Intel processors when system size restricts choice to only low profile CPU coolers.

The wonderful thing with the PC game is that while the huge firms always stick around - unless they're bought by another - smaller ones tend to come and go, which keeps the industry relatively fresh faced; at least in certain areas. One that sees a revamp every now and again is the chassis market; which is important, as innovation can often be hard to come by.
