Wir haben uns den Prominent 5 näher angeschaut und überprüft, ob er wirklich alles erfüllt, was er verspricht.

Whenever i think about PC Cases i always end up comparing them with cars since they happen to share quite a few similarities with them. So except the exterior design which i think matters the most lot with both our choice is also largely based on several other things such as the type (coupe/roadster/4 door/2 door/midi tower/full tower/mini tower), interior space, build quality, available features and of course the price tag. Fortunately PC Cases cost a lot less than cars so most people (casual users) don't really pay much attention to anything else other than the design something which i happen to understand since not everyone can be aware of what they should look for in a PC Case but that doesn't mean that i actually agree with it. Today on our test bench is the latest and quite promising (based on its specifications sheet) updated Prominent 5 midi tower by NEXUS.
The Prominent is a mid-tower case series from Nexus targeted to users looking forward to building a quiet PC. We've already reviewed the Prominent 5, and today we are reviewing the Prominent 9. Both cost the same, which leads to the automatic question, "what are the differences between the two?" That is what we are going to answer in this review.
Nexus is a Dutch manufacturer with cases that focus on quiet computing. Its latest release is the Prominent R, a mid-tower case with eight expansion slots and a 3.5"/2.5" docking station.
It's been far too long since i last reviewed a PC Case and since there has been quite a large number of new ones released in the market lately (many of which are already here) i think it's time i got back on track. Now as some of you know I’ve always liked full sized towers more than midi ones since installing lots of hardware in tight spaces is not really my thing, not to mention about other things such as airflow levels. However lately i have actually seen quite a few feature rich midi towers which i would actually consider using for my own test rigs (and i have if you are following our FB page) instead of full sized ones and the Prominent R by NEXUS which we have here today is such a midi tower PC Case.
Case fans are one of those things that are essential but rarely discussed. It is much more important to have a good CPU cooler than good case fans. That in itself is not quite strictly true. Ok yes without a CPU cooler your processor will overheat within seconds but without a case fan you will struggle to remove any heat removed from the CPU and of course then no more heat can be removed. More simply put, it is essential to have good airflow through the case to remove the heat build-up else the CPU cooler won't be able to operate.
