Hopliten waren im antiken Griechenland schwerbewaffnete Krieger. Enermax hat eines seiner neusten Gehäuse ebenfalls als Hoplite benannt und möchte damit zum einen auf das robuste Erscheinungsbild, zum anderen aber auch auf die hochgerüstete Ausstattung verweisen. It’s been a while since we got to take a look at an Enermax chassis, the last one was the fantastic Ostrog GT four months ago and it’s great to finally get our hands on something new from the German manufacturer.
The in-name only little brother of the Fulmo GT, the Fulmo ST is a premium price range midi tower. The Fulmo GT is a ultra premium priced full tower and to my eyes looks little to nothing like the ST, they just share the same first name. The mid-towered Fulmo ST is priced at around £90 here in the UK at time of writing and that makes it a premium solution, it’s not the most expensive option out there but it’s certainly up against some fierce competition in that price range from brands like NZXT and Corsair.
Enermax are already a big brand, well-known around the world for their award-winning power supplies, coolers and fans but in recent years they’ve been getting plenty of attention for their unique chassis designs, I’m hoping that the Fulmo ST is another great addition to their good name. So let’s get started and take a closer look at what the Fulmo ST has to offer.
When building a new system it's very important to know exactly what your requirements are, how much you are willing to spend and exactly how the various hardware components compare to each other (mostly in terms of performance) but at the end of the day perhaps the most crucial part is picking up the right house for the components you will choose. When it comes to cases there is only so much you can fit inside and that sort of limits what type of system you can build. Well Enermax wants to break that barrier with their Fulmo GT Full Tower case. This is not just any full tower case, this is one of the biggest cases I’ve ever had in to review! The Enermax Fulmo GT is a gigantic full-tower case supporting EVGA's Classified SR-2 motherboard, which at the moment is the only motherboard in the world based on the HPTX form factor. It also supports E-ATX, XL-ATX, and smaller motherboards. This case has 10 expansion slots, 10 internal 3.5"/2.5" storage bays, one external 3.5"/2.5" docking bay, and supports the installation of two power supplies. It seems Enermax has really picked up the pace the past year and is delivering quite the assortment of products in getting ready for this year. Not too long ago we took a look at the ED-T60 CPU cooler with its T.B. Vegas fan and multiple lighting schemes which made this cooler attractive and customizable to your own preference. Then we sort of stepped out of the box and went into peripherals with the Briskie wireless keyboard and mouse. From what I thought was essentially a PSU and cooler maker, the Briskie made me look at Enermax with much wider eyes as I took the blinders off to see what they actually have to offer. Now, we again step outside the "norm" and get a chance to look at what Enermax is now bringing forth in chassis design.
