When presented with a chassis like Lian Li's PC-8FI, it is very hard not to heap praise on it like a smitten middle school girl. There is, nevertheless, a hell of a lot to recommend this case. It looks good, has a fabulous feature set with many excellent tool-free elements and top shelf cooling.
If you're going to spend the time and money to build your own computer then why not house it in a case that's well made and stylish like the one from Lian Li. Today for review I've got the Lian Li PC-8FI Aluminum case, and I've got to say that it's very much true what they say about cases from Lian Li, they truly are of high quality and top notch design. This case features a tool less design and an all aluminum construction that's lightweight yet durable and good looking.

Mit dem neuen Midi Tower PC-9 richtet sich der Taiwanische Gehäusespezialist Lian Li an anspruchsvolle PC-Enthusiasten und die immer größer werdende Gruppe der Heimserveradministratoren. Die große Besonderheit bei diesem Gehäuse ist ein spezieller Festplattenkäfig, wie er sonst nur im professionellen Umfeld zu finden ist - doch dazu später mehr.
Mit dem PC-9B stellt der taiwanesische Hersteller Lian Li einen weiteren edlen und zeitlosen Midi-Tower vor. Neben der hochpräzisen Verarbeitung wirbt das Gehäuse mit einem hotswapfähigen SATA-Festplattenkäfig zum schnellen Festplattentausch. Schlauchöffnungen zum Einsatz einer externen Wasserkühlung könnten für Overclocker interessant sein und teilweise entkoppelte Bauteile sollten einen Einstieg in den Silentbereich ermöglichen.
So once again Lian Li has changed up the computer case design while leaving the exterior of the case unchanged. Just when you think there isn’t much else you can do with a computer case, Lian Li comes in and WOW’s you once again. For many enthusiasts, fitting the very best hardware into a computer case comes at a high price. Unfortunately it means having large, unwieldy enclosures to house all of their hardware. To combat this, Lian Li has created an enclosure with unique properties to combat the growing bloat of systems, and to their credit it seems to has worked. By allowing users to fit the EVGA Super Record 2 motherboard into a case that is 20.15" x 9.05" x 19.25", Lian Li has effectively allowed users to have a smaller more manageable case with all the features of its larger cousins. Benchmark Reviews will evaluate if the Lian Li PC-90 computer case has all of the cards in its hand or if in the end it was a bluff and users are still better off with a larger enclosure.
Whether you are building a gaming rig, a general purpose desktop, a home server, or even a home theater PC (HTPC), the case you choose will vary greatly depending on your personal needs and taste. Recently, I was given the opportunity to review the Lian Li PC-90 full tower desktop case. While this may not be the HTPC case for many, it has some unique qualities about it that make it a compelling choice for housing a full size HTPC or Windows Home Server.
