I am a case snob. The cases I like are brushed aluminum, have removable motherboard trays, neatly rolled edges, finished interiors, cable management, and so forth. They have SATA backplanes and mounts for triple-120 radiators. A certain degree of style doesn't hurt, either. Of course cases like this are expensive, but since I have to look at them all day, I figure they're worth it. NZXT has fired off a new case once again, and has hit several consumers with a myriad of attractive features alongside powerful performance.
The main purpose behind a HTPC case is to blend in with other A/V equipment and the SilverStone GD04 does an excellent job of this. We felt the looks were just right for the intended purpose by making the media PC look like a high-end DVD or Blu-ray player.

Wer nun aber Masse statt Klasse als Motivator dahinter impliziert, sieht sich schnell getäuscht, an der Qualität hat sich nichts geändert. Im Gegenteil, vieles was in der Vergangenheit gelegentlich bemängelt wurde, hat inzwischen eine Renovierung erhalten und dazu gehören auch die gerne erwähnten klapperigen Seitenteile. Womit wir schon mitten im Thema angelangt wären, denn wir wollen keine alten Lian Li Klischees reanimieren, sondern euch so kurz vor Weihnachten noch einen Leckerbissen der besonderen Art präsentieren: den relativ neuen Lian Li Midi Tower (PC-7FN) mit bereits integrierter vollständiger Gehäusedämmung.
Lian Li verklebt ja in einigen Serie selbst Dämmatten, aber viel mehr als rudimentären Charakter kann man diesen Versuchen dann doch nicht bescheinigen, zumal es selten über dünne Matten in den Seitenteilen hinaus geht. Dem kann aber abgeholfen werden: Caseking hat sein Sortiment jüngst um den sogenannten King Mod Service erweitert, der kein Preisausschreiben für den witzigsten Gehäusemod präsentiert, sondern fertig gedämmte Gehäuse und darüber hinaus auch fertige Sets für die individuelle Eigenverarbeitung.
Mit dem M59 möchte der amerikanische Gehäuse und Peripheriehersteller NZXT Gaming ein weiteres Gehäuse aus der Classic Serie vorstellen. Wie sich das kleine schwarze Modding-Gehäuse in unserem Testparcours schlägt und ob eine Investition lohnt wird dieser Test zeigen.
More than a year ago we took a close look at the original NZXT Tempest and gave it our OCIA.net Seal of Approval. Among the list of laudations were its good looks, roomy interior, massive amount of airflow yet quiet operation and reasonable price. Externally the Tempest EVO doesn't look much different, it shares the same appearance, dimensions and weight as the Tempest. It also offers the same number of drive bays, cooling fans and expansion slots. So what, if anything, did NZXT actually do to the Tempest to warrant giving it a suffix?
NZXT has manufactured a good case and after some modification, Hades has found a place to call home with this reviewer. Beautifully sculpted and outrageous airflow for $89.99 US is astounding. I'd recommend this case to anyone looking for cutting edge styling, great airflow and nice cable management features as long as you don't use liquid cooling and/or a large heat sink as the case will not close.
Without exceptions, when we think of a computer case with a unique design invariable we think of a macho-themed product, usually military-inspired. Sensing that girls were being left behind by the case manufacturers, In Win decided to release Diva, a very (very!) small case and very (very!) girly front panel, featuring a big Swarovski crystal as a power button. While straight guys will hate this case, girls (and probably er… "very happy" guys) will love it. Let's see why.
