As a reviewer of PC components, I would like to first start this introduction off with a bit of insight. PC components tend to fall into three different categories: Budget components, performance components, and I-have-too-much-money-to-spend components. You follow? Let me rephrase. Budget components are produced by manufacturers with the goal of providing the best performance-per-dollar. Performance components are released into the market comparably around the same price, but geared towards providing pure performance, innovation, and refinement. Last, but definitely not the least, is the I-have-too-much-money-to-spend kind of products. These products are those targeted at consumers that really have no budget in mind, but are just looking for the best of the best with simply have too much money to spend; hence the name I gave it. Today, however, I seem to be in a bit of a dilemma. Cooler Master has given us a fresh chassis, the Elite 431 Plus, and it seems to be a hybrid of a budget and a performance case. Looking at the price of around $50 at the time of review, it is definitely priced as a budget case. But on paper, this baby screams performance. LED intake fan? Hot swap HDD X-dock eSATA bay? Internal USB 3.0? Black painted interior? The perfect acrylic windowed side panel (No joke!)? The feature list on this case continues to amaze me. But there must be a catch, right? Well, I guess you'll have to read on to find out.

I like cases with lots of room in them, I used to like small cases but I’ve since changed my mind on them as I like the room to move and route wires to keep them out of the way. Today for review I’ve got the Thermaltake Overseer RX-I PC case which is a full tower style that offers plenty of room for everything. Once you open up the Overseer case you’ll find more than enough room for everything in your system including large video cards and large coolers. The case offers excellent cooling abilities with two 200mm fans pre-installed for you, and a 120mm fan as well. The Overseer even comes with an integrated SATA hard drive dock so you can easily swap drives for transferring files of even booting from another drive. All in all I like the Overseer case a lot, it has features that I think many will appreciate in a case.

Today we will be focusing on a new Mid Tower chassis from Xigmatek, the MidGard II. This is the second case released in the MidGard series, following up on the popular original MidGard model. Can the new MidGard II match the success of it’s predecessor?

Après l'alimentation, nous testons ce jour le boitier Toxic.

In this article Benchmark Reviews gets to evaluate a HTPC case from SilverStone's Grandia line; the GD06. With these smaller cases, space is always an issue. This is becoming increasingly critical as high definition content becomes ubiquitous. Not only do we want to view our new content in more pixels than our brain can even process, but we want to upscale the old content, or view it in 3D, and do it upside down, right side up and inside out. While you're at it give me dish, cable, recording, streaming, email, gaming and the kitchen sink. Oh...and it needs to fit in a single box on my entertainment system. Well, SilverStone is at least trying to provide the box, the rest is up to you. They've expanded on past models to fit even more powerful toys inside your HTPC. Read on to see how model SST-GD06B crams the performance you demand and puts it on your shelf.

What is it that you should look for in a computer case, exactly? The market is full of many different styles with plenty of different features and the prices range from next-to-nothing to arm-and-a-leg. When deciding on a computer case, those are the three areas you want to focus on; price, functionality, and style. Computer case manufacturers are constantly trying to find a balance between those three items by giving customers everything they want at a price they can afford and in a style that they'll like. NZXT is a company that tries hard to please gamers and enthusiasts and their products reflect that. At CES 2012, NZXT announced a completely new case design that offers a lot of functionality for its price. In this article, Benchmark Reviews is exploring the NZXT Switch 810 Full Tower Computer Chassis to help you find out where it fits for you within those three categories.

It is hard to believe another year already passed by us, and January has come and gone. Sometimes it feels like it wasn't too long ago that we were making our New Year's resolutions, and trying our best to follow them. I'm sure, as most people know, that these resolutions are quite hard to keep. One of mine was to keep on top of my work schedule here at APH Networks, and trust me -- the Editor-in-Chief isn't very happy so far, haha. Just before the start of 2012, I starkly recall one memorable conversation with some friends while enjoying lunch at KFC. At the table, we were talking about some of the latest tech trends, and I decided to bring up some of the various USB devices we have today, and what would make a great (gag) gift during the Christmas season. Some people said things such as USB mini fridges, USB cup warmers, and other assorted USB devices. Cool, but they are all so, for a lack of better term, '2008'. Then, a specific friend of mine, while enjoying his food, said that there should be a USB cooling solution that would cool off his food. I kept that in mind during the holiday season, and decided to look for something along those lines as a product to write a lounge article on, since it has been a while since we last wrote about of this extent that doesn't fit into our normal review schemes. Lo and behold, we finally have said product that I distinctly recall talking about. Not only is it a USB fan from SilverStone, I also picked up an interesting version -- so to speak -- in tribute to my friend. Read on to find out what I mean!

In our previous looks at Fractal Design (the Define R3 ATX chassis, the Define Mini Micro-ATX Chassis, and just recently the Core 3000) cases they have demonstrated a favor for solid, stylish chassis that consistently deliver without the flashing lights and other "bling" often found on other enclosures that offer the same space and flexibility. As we have seen, there are many different options offered by Fractal Design. The Fractal Design Core 1000 is the flavor of today’s review. The Core series brings together a combination of design, features, cooling performance, and value. Is this going to be your next HTPC case? The Fractal Design Core 1000 uses the micro ATX chassis very effectively with multiple cooling options. You have a case that give you maximum flow of air but keeps the size small to put beside your TV for a sleek and stylish look.
