Today Stuart Davidson takes a look at the Arc Mini R2 micro-atx case from Fractal Design. Looking at all aspects of the case, and how a high performance system can be built into a small form factor case, including an XSPC watercooling kit.
Cases
Fractal make some of the best looking chassis on the market, they’re known for their desirable designs and they’ve always done well to back that up with rock solid build quality and premium quality features. It is because of this that we have very high expectations of the ARC Mini R2, Fractal Design have set their own standards incredibly high with ever product they’ve released and we’ll expect nothing less with this new chassis.
Smaller form factor chassis are very popular right now and while micro-ATX isn’t exactly tiny, not everyone wants a 3 foot tall super tower next to their desk, nor does everyone even have the space for such things. Small and mighty is the popular choice these days and that’s exactly what Fractal Design are promising here. Keeping with the theme and style of the rest of the Arc range and priced at £69.99 it looks like a great mid to high-end solution for a compact gaming build and as you can see from the specifications below, it isn’t exactly lacking in features and components support either.
Cases
Over the last few years Fractal Design has cultivated a reputation for delivering intelligent, quiet, and well-built PC cases that do not require breaking the bank. With solid steel construction, ample storage options, and three hydraulic bearing Silent Series R2 fans (2x 120mm, 1x 140mm) included, we should expect the ARC MINI R2 Micro-ATX case to continue this tradition. However it is natural to wonder if Fractal Design can deliver the innovative features of its larger, more expensive, chassis at the smaller enclosure’s $99 price point. Let’s find out.
Cases
The Arc Mini R2 is designed with all of your liquid cooling needs in mind and offers removable ODD and HDD bays. Along with being able to remove the drive bays, there is a location for 2.5” drives/SSDs to be mounted to the back of the motherboard tray.
Cases
The second revision of the Arc Mini micro ATX chassis brings a few revisions while keeping the essential styling that differentiates Fractal Design from other PC case manufacturers. The original Arc Mini PC case was well received by PC enthusiasts and system builders alike, and now Benchmark Reviews has the Arc Mini R2 for testing and we will detail what sets it apart from the crowd.
Cases
Today we are taking a look at Fractal Design’s latest micro-ATX offering, the Arc Mini R2. Based on the excellent Arc Midi R2, the Arc Mini R2 boasts support for multiple 240 mm radiators or a single 360 mm radiator, 7 fan positions and power supplies up to 220 mm in length. So, is its £70 asking price justified?
Cases
Cases
The Fractal Design Arc XL Case like their other Arc series cases, looks amazing and has excellent build quality. This case is very spacious and a perfect option for anyone considering building a robust system with water cooling. There's lots of drive bays, plenty of fans and more can be added, smoked side window and USB3 ports.
Cases
If the elements of the ARC Mini or ARC Midi made a great impression, but didn't offer enough room, Fractal Design offers the cure with the ARC XL.
