Choosing the right PC Case for both my test rigs or for the systems i sometimes build for close friends is really the very last thing on my mind since naturally i need to have all the hardware components laid out in front of me prior to that (when you have an for example an very long GPU like the GeForce GTX 690 or an XL-ATX mainboard you can't/shouldn't squeeze them inside a small/midi tower). Now for good or bad the market is currently filled with all sorts of PC cases ment to cover all tastes and requirements (space and features wise) so the possibility of not finding a suitable one is almost nonexistent something which i can't say for even just a decade ago. Personally as some of you know i always like to use full tower PC Cases because they offer enough interior space to mount even the largest hardware components without having to spend much time in the process and that's why i can't wait until the latest Obsidian 900D by Corsair reaches our doorstep in a couple of weeks. However for people who care not about having a PC case with lots of interior space and are not willing to spend much cash for one the latest Challenger Midi Tower by Cougar might just be the ideal solution.

Today we have the pleasure of going over another chassis from SilverStone with a fine tooth comb. There have been previous models in the Grandia chassis segment, all designed to deliver an attractive solution to add to your living room or home theater. Over time SilverStone has seen what works and what doesn't, and in this example, being the current top dog in the lineup, the GD06 has a little bit of everything while doing away with things like a tiny LCD you couldn't see across the room anyways.

Cases these days come in a lot of different varieties and usually aim for either aesthetics or superior thermal properties. The PS05 midtower case from SilverStone is their new budget model. This model seems to be aimed at the entry level enthusiast on a budget looking for flexibility in how they put together a build. It is a midtower case with a bottom-mounted PSU. The PS05 is part of their Precision Series which brings thoughtful details from high-end chassis designs that are usually left out of entry level models. Items such as the all black interior, cable tie-down spots and vibration dampening hard drive mounts are all part of this model’s selling points.

The CM 690 III is one of the best at cooling components, while the price is excellent. At this price point, the CM 690 III is a uniquely complete chassis of outstanding quality. The improvements may be incremental over the previous version, but it's the perfect evolution and sets a new standard for mid-range desktop chassis.

In October, I wrote a review of the Raidmax Blade mid tower ultra budget case. Although it was a functional case and quite inexpensive, there were things left to desire, which is just the nature of ultra budget cases. Today at Benchmark Reviews, we have another offering in the Raidmax mid tower line-up, the Seiran. The Seiran is Raidmax's newest mid tower entry, and pricewise, clearly not a budget case. I'm interested in seeing what Raidmax's higher end mid tower case has to offer that budget mid tower's don't, and how it stacks up against other mid towers in its price range. So with that short intro, let's get started!
