For those of you who lived under a rock last year and completely missed out on the BMW Group Designworks USA inspired Level 10, Let me bring you up to speed real quick. To understand this design, you have to first envision a thick, vertically mounted motherboard tray attached to a wide flat base. Unlike a typical chassis', there wasn't the "boxed" look with this chassis at all. In this design everything was mounted to the motherboard tray for support. In the front you had and optical bay rack that was in a separate compartment than the hard drive, and which each received their own slim covers. The top half of the motherboard used a small cover to go over the CPU cooler and PWM area of the motherboard, while yet another hinged compartment covered the expansion cards. This design is very unique, and was very impressive upon release. The biggest problem with the Level 10 I saw was the devastating price tag!

We have another offering from Sentey and their “Extreme Division” line of cases today. This time we are going to take a look at their GS-6000 Optimus mid-tower case. Previously we looked at the Arvina GS-6400 which came away with top honors. With the Optimus, Sentey looks to be going for a budget version of the Arvina in the mid-tower size. The Optimus comes in two varieties, the GS-6000 which is all black and the GS-6000R with red highlights; we have the former on hand today.
The 650D is the first mid-tower case within Corsair's Obsidian series - the other two models available, 700D and 800D, are full-tower cases.
USB 3.0 is the future and it’s here now, there’s no doubt it’s fast but there isn’t much yet in the way of pre-built hard drives on the market just yet that can take advantage of its speed. The solution of course is to get an aftermarket enclosure like the one I have today from Hornettek called the Viper. This enclosure is small and well made; I put it up against another USB 3.0 enclosure and found that it actually performs a bit better.

When you think of something hard and blue, what comes to mind? I wouldn't believe it if you said a computer chassis, but for the sake of this review, that is definitely what came to my mind. The part that always gets to me with computer cases is you never really know when you should replace one. Generally, it never wears out; the fans might, but those are cheap repairs. Due to the nature of it being made from steel (In many situations), it is also fairly durable. I guess one could argue that they need to upgrade to a larger case to put more components in, or they want a new look and feel for their computer. Nevertheless, computer chassis are a tricky one, because you can never really measure the case itself objectively, other than its physical dimensions, of course. It heavily depends on your personal preference. Are you looking for more room, better cooling, new look, or is it just some box to put your computer components into? I find that it is one of the most important aesthetic components to any computer, because the case can be individualized to a person; whereas, many of the internal components are not very aesthetically customizable. The Sentey Arvina GS-6400B is an interesting case -- this blue variant of the GS-6400 chassis has a nice sleek dark blue look, and comes with many notable features. Now, I'm not going to spoil the fun of telling you which exact features yet, as you will have to read on to find out all those juicy details!
The latest addition to Thermaltake's Armor series of cases is a compact model targeted to high-end small form factor (SFF) computers. Let's see if the A30 is a good pick.
Just for a minute, we're going to stop looking for the biggest, baddest, most ferocious PC gaming case and look at something a little less hardcore. It's not even black, if you can imagine that..... Another thing that sets the Lian Li PC-A04 apart from the norm is that it's limited to micro-ATX motherboards. Two or three years ago, this would have been a showstopper, but in recent times there have been some excellent uATX boards hitting the market. There are even some offerings that forgo integrated graphics in favor of more performance-oriented chipsets. ASUS and MSI both make X58 boards for instance, and there are also several P67 choices available. So, don't feel that you have to reign in your performance expectations just because you want a smaller, more attractive box beside your desk. Benchmark Reviews took up the challenge of creating a full-aluminum mini tower build that's very different from your average "granny system".
The L-900 V.REX F8 ("F8" means that the case supports eight fans) is the latest addition to 3R System's V.REX series of mid-tower cases. It is a basic entry-level case, with a very basic look and being the first model from this brand that we've reviewed that doesn't come with a plastic piece on its top panel featuring fans, fan controllers, and USB ports.
