In a world run by the tablet and Android there was one company brave enough to still make a laptop cooling pad and they even added lights.
In this review Frostytech will be testing out Noctua's NH-U14S heatsink, a 170mm tall thermal solution built around six 6mm diameter heatpipes and featuring one 140x150mm fan called the NF-A15 PWM. The Noctua-branded NF-A15 fan features all kinds of fancy attributes designed to decrease noise, increase airflow, lengthen bearing life and cancel out errant vibrations. Given the pride Noctua have in their fans, Frostytech will be taking the extra step of testing the NH-U14S heatsink in stock and dual fan configurations, on 85W, 150W and 200W synthetic thermal test platforms.

Ist man heutzutage auf der Suche nach einem neuen CPU Kühler, um seinen quadratischen Hitzkopf zu kühlen, wird man sprichwörtlich erschlagen von der großen Auswahl die am Markt verfügbar ist. Konnte man in Zeiten von 386er Prozessoren noch bedenkenlos die boxed Kühler einsetzen, so erzeugt eine heutige CPU schon mal gut und gerne 80-120 Watt Abwärme, die nicht so ohne weiteres abgeführt werden kann.
Lately we’ve been taking a look at CPU coolers for larger ATX setups in more traditional cases but with the recent Lunchbox build it is clear that the little guys need some attention. To that end we will be taking a look at the AXP-100 cooler from Thermalright and designed for ITX systems. We’ll be running the cooler through the same battery of tests as the rest of our coolers to see its performance against the big boys. Unfair for sure but as we have seen, ITX builds aren’t just for media centers anymore.
