While SSDs may be all the rage these days, there are still a lot of people chugging along with traditional HDD offerings. In fact in many cases, this is a preferable option as while slower, there are much bigger storage capacities available and they're much cheaper when considering the cost per GB. Some downsides to these units though, are noise output - in some of the faster drives - and in some cases heat. There are many products available to aleviate this issue, but today we're looking at one from Nexus.

The enthusiast cooling market really is a busy place at the moment, despite reviewing coolers from Gelid, Akasa, Noctua, Spire, CoolIT and Xigmatek in the past few months there is still a large selection out there which may appeal to consumers. Today, for the second time in as many weeks, we have a selection of the newest on our test bench allowing us to see which is the most appealing in a very crowded marketplace.

Today we are looking at the Corator DS from Coolink, a company perhaps not recognised by many enthusiast users. They are the retail arm of Rascom who are involved with Noctua, one of KitGuru’s favourite cooling companies. The heatsink we are reviewing is a dual tower design that utilises Gapless Direct Touch technology with four large 8mm heat pipes transfering heat to aluminum fins. Today we are going to compare it against the similarly priced Thermaltake Frio and the top of the line cooler from Noctua, the NH D14 ‘Austrian Sandwich’.

The DEEPCOOL GamerStorm CPU Cooler proved to be a tried and true performer beating out the competition in the testing phase. Not only does this cooler look great, it performs great as well.

Standing just 88mm tall, the Glacialtech Igloo 5760 PWM heatsink is relatively compact as modern CPU coolers go. Small through it may be, Glacialtech seem to have engineered it in just the right spots to manage the demanding peak thermal loads of top-end processors like the AMD Phenom II X4 (140W TDP) or Intel Core i7 960 (130W TDP) processor. Given this cooling threshold, the Igloo 5760 PWM should be well matched against the plethora of mainstream 65W & 95W TDP chips currently available from both Intel and AMD...

DEEPCOOL, with their latest coolers offering top tier performance, is really looking to be a worthy adversary in the cpu cooling industry. The Killer Whale really shined during testing and beat out most of the coolers that I had on hand to test against it.

Deepcool's Ice Matrix 400 is a great looking tower cooler that installs easily and comes with a quiet fan and a lot of handy accessories. It also cools very well, as long as it doesn't get pushed too hard.
