Cooler Master are well known for producing a range of high quality CPU coolers that offer excellent performance at competitive price points. Today we are going to look at one of their latest CPU coolers, the Hyper 612S which on paper should deliver a decent level of cooling without breaking the bank.

On the heatsink test bench today is Xigmatek's Prime SD1484 heatsink which features a few notable changes to the standard, stock tower heatsink Xigmatek offers. For starters, the edges of the aluminum fins are squished slightly to form a blunt knife edge to reduce air flow resistance - Gigabyte tried this in 2006 with good results - Xigmatek have applied a 4mm chamfer to both edges of the fins.

Evercool has brought forward the Transformer 4 PLUS as a performance CPU cooler. Sporting four heat pipes and dual 120mm PWM fans, this cooler is made to do its job properly, and show the competition one up simultaneously. While the tests did not properly convey the heat sink’s effectiveness, it is suffice to say that I would expect the Transformer 4 PLUS to be capable to out-perform the majority of mid-performance heat sinks.

The Scythe Kozuti SCKZT-1000 is a really compact low profile heatsink that conforms to the 1.5U standard and measures just 40mm from tip to toe! That's not a lot of space in which to cram a heatsink capable of handling 150W heat loads... but Scythe manage it with average thermal results - impressive for such a low profile heatsink really.

After reviewing the great performing Alpenföhn Peter VGA cooler I was heavily enthusiastic when they offered me to review their brand high end air cooler : the K2. For those that wonder where the name K2 comes from : the Mount K2 is the 2nd highest mountain in the world, right at the border of Pakistan and China. While the Mount Everest is still the highest one, mountain climbers categorize the K2 as the most difficult to conquer. This particular mountain is also known as Killer Mountain or Mount Doom. Think you get the idea, as not many reach the top. Back to the CPU cooler, before you are getting the idea you are browsing some Wikipedia-alike site. The Alpenföhn K2 is a dual tower design boosting 8 big diameter heatpipes, not sounding quite innovative as competitive products from Noctua and Thermalright have similar coolers in their lineup. But maybe the sleek design lines and the thermal performance can satisfy your cooling requirements. Let's open up the package...

Today I will be reviewing the Arctic Accelero XTREME Plus II. This is a Graphics Card heatsink-cooler designed to cool even the hottest of cards – including my own Inno3D GTX580 OC, whilst remaining reasonably quiet.
