Equipped with an 80mm 'SilenX Effizio Series Quiet Fan', the SilenX EFZ-80HA2 heatsink makes for one compact little cooler, a heatsink small enough to use in a Media PC or compact computer enclosure. The heatsink is all but tiny compared to many of today's tower heatsinks, which is good because there aren't that many small CPU coolers to choose from anymore. Most remarkably though, the EFZ-80HA2 uses only two 6mm diameter copper heatpipes!

Even though we try to concentrate on enthusiast level cooling solutions we are often called on to look at more mainstream heatsinks to see just how good they really are. In the case of the SilenX EFZ-120HA5 we are pleasantly surprised to see some good C/W numbers from a heatsink that would normally get overlooked by the community.

Today we are reviewing the new EFZ-120HA5 heatsink from SilenX Corporation. The EFZ-120HA5 is a tower style heatsink that utilizes three 6mm heatpipes that contact directly with the processor for maximum thermal dissipation. A universal mounting bracket supports the widest range of current AMD and Intel sockets, including the latest multicore Phenom and i3/i5/i7 processors.

SilenX's EFZ-120HA5 tower heatsink is built around three 6mm diameter exposed base copper heatpipes that pass through a sharp-edged stack of dimpled raw aluminum fins. A 120mm fan capable of rotating at 1600-800RPM ships with the cooler, additional fan mounts are supplied for a second rear fan can be installed (not included).

The SilenX EFZ-120HA5 is a tower-style CPU cooler, with three copper heatpipes and a 120 mm fan. Let’s test it!

Today we have an exciting brand landed on our shore - SilenX. Some of us might not have heard about SilenX as they are not volume player and they has been focusing on OEM business instead of consumer market. However today we will look into one of their latest and top range CPU coolers, EFZ-120HA5. If you are looking for a budget and entry CPU cooler then you should really take a look on this.
Aircooling
The SilenX EFZ-120HA4 heatsink is a full tower cooler, standing 151mm tall and weighing 836 grams. It ships with a single non-PWM 120mm SilenX 'Effizio Series Quiet Fan' mounted to the aluminum fin tower with four rubber vibration absorbing posts. The fan rotates at 800-2000RPM and as is common to this heatsink style, barely fits in place because the company holding the original design credit for this heatsink messed up its dimensions. The fin tower is about 15mm too short to properly mount a 120mm fan. It's oversight we'll talk about in greater detail momentarily.
Aircooling
In short, SilenX have tossed every popular heatsink technology into the EFZ-100HA1 heatsink and capped it with a languid 100mm x 15mm vaneaxial fan. Exhaust air is quietly directed down through the 17mm wide aluminum fins, so that's a plus. The single 100mm non-PWM fan rotates at 1000-2000RPM depending on the computer or manual fan speed controller setting. The entire heatsink weighs just 364 grams and installs onto Intel socket 775/1156/1366 and AMD socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM3 processors.

Up for review today I’ve got a small, good looking cooler that performs amazingly well. The cooler is the Silenx Effizio EFZ-92HA3 that features 92mm cooling fan and a small profile. I’ve put the cooler up against ones that are two and three times the size of it and I was very surprised by the results, and I think you will be too. Read on to learn more…
