Phobya are starting to become a bit of a big player these days with products spanning a wide range of categories at a variety of different market segmentations. A while back we took a look at a trio of Phobya 120mm fans and we definitely encourage you to check that review out as we were pretty darn impressed with two out of the three fans. Today we are taking a look at our first Phobya fan controller, the Phobya Touch 6 which is a six channel fan controller that features only one input which is the 4.5 inch touch screen. This fan controller is made by Sunshine Tipway Electronics (STW for short) and is based off the STW-6050. Other than the fancy looking display this is a pretty standard 5.25 inch drive bay fan controller that supports fans at 5-12 volts with up to 30W of power per channel.
Furthermore it supports voltage control of any three or four pin devices, including pumps, and it supports temperature sensors too. Though it is not as advanced as some fan controllers in the sense that you cannot have advanced temperature fan responses. The Phobya Touch 6 does supports these but only in automatic mode and the threshold is essentially a binary function of: X fan speed below Y temperature OR 100% fan speed above Y temperature. Anyway before I get dragged into too many more specifics let us move onto the rest of this review and take a closer look at Phobya’s Touch 6 fan controller.

Want a bit of style, even though you have no extra room for the CPU cooler? Zalman may have your answer with the CNPS2X super low profile CPU cooler.

It's nice to once again encounter a heatsink that stands less than 150mm tall and doesn't feature some kind of complicated self contained water cooling heat exchanger... these days it's getting more difficult to find CPU coolers for compact computer systems.

The Noctua NF-A14 PWM Fan is a premium quiet 140mm fan that's perfect for a case, cooler or radiator. Since it sports a SSO2 bearing, flow channels, stepped inlet design and inner surface microstructures it's quiet, performs well and has a long lifespan. You can't go wrong with this fan!

Driving air through the heatsinks' aluminum fins is a 92x25mm PWM fan which is held in place with rubber fan mounts. This is not a method we're not particularly fond of, wire fan clips stand the test of time. The fan spins at 2400-1000RPM and draws power from a standard 4-pin PWM connection. At full speed it pushes upwards of 53CFM air through the 55mm deep fin stack according to the manufacturer specs. Raijintek's Aidos heatsink installs onto Intel socket LGA2011/1366/1150/1155/1156/775 processors and the complete line up of AMD CPUs.

Today we are back again with another multi-heatpipe CPU cooler, this time from one of the larger names in performance cooling. Gelid Solutions has been around since 2008 and have proven themselves to be manufactures of quality cooling products and accessories. Slated for the test bench is The Black Edition, a seven heatpipe air cooler that promises both quiet operation and high end performance. Will this cooler be able to stand up to our tests and impress or be relegated to the bottom self and forgotten? Let’s find out.

In a world run by the tablet and Android there was one company brave enough to still make a laptop cooling pad and they even added lights.

Since the beginning of 2014 alone 3 of my friends decided to build their very own HTPC systems and all three turned to me for advice regarding what hardware components they should choose. Fortunately money is not really an issue for either of them but since their goal was to keep the cost inside a specific range it did take us a while to locate the ideal components. The trick was to find components with excellent price/performance ratio and for good or bad that wasn't very easy especially since all three chose very small mini ITX compatible cases by Streacom and Impactics. Luckily both Noctua and Thermalright offered very good and compact solutions acceptable by all three but since it's always nice to know what's out there today we'll be testing the latest AXP-200 Muscle by Thermalright.

We have taken a look at many different types and brands of CPU coolers over the years, with each manufacturer coming up with their own unique way to control the massive amounts of heat your CPU can throw off. A new company, called V3 Components, wants to start off by introducing a cooler with little used technology called Thermoelectric Cooling (TEC) – We’ll get more into the specifics on that in a bit. Basically what V3 is targeting is your liquid CPU coolers, stating that this cooler should be as good as or better than the AIO liquid cooling kits on the market today; not to mention safer due to no liquid...
