Thermalright produces a small, but carefully crafted selection of high-quality components, all centered around a single core competency. Today we’ll be looking at one of their larger coolers to date, the HR-02. Aimed at the enthusiast and overclocker crowds, this cooler seems geared to tackle the hottest CPUs on the market. Stick with us as we see just how Right the Thermals are on this beastly cooler.

Aircooling
Popular with PC enthusiasts, Thermalright makes cooling products that are known for their quality and performance. What some people might not know is that Thermalright also caters to the server / workstation crowd, offering heatsinks that fit dual socket boards and rack chassis. This review will take a look at a pair of the HR-01 X heatsinks, which fit a 120mm fan.

Since the beginning of 2014 alone 3 of my friends decided to build their very own HTPC systems and all three turned to me for advice regarding what hardware components they should choose. Fortunately money is not really an issue for either of them but since their goal was to keep the cost inside a specific range it did take us a while to locate the ideal components. The trick was to find components with excellent price/performance ratio and for good or bad that wasn't very easy especially since all three chose very small mini ITX compatible cases by Streacom and Impactics. Luckily both Noctua and Thermalright offered very good and compact solutions acceptable by all three but since it's always nice to know what's out there today we'll be testing the latest AXP-200 Muscle by Thermalright.

Having 2 out of our 3 test rigs housed inside HPTX towers is perhaps the best indication that i personally have no intention of actually using an m-ATX or m-ITX PC case at least not any time soon (who knows how things may turn out in the following years?) but it really seems that the recent increase in m-ATX and m-ITX compatible PC Cases in the market has intrigued quite a few people out there (judging from all the messages we've been getting) so naturally it was only a matter of time before the leading CPU Cooling manufacturers found ways to further improve on their current solutions. Thermalright is amongst them and although the original AXP-100 low profile CPU Cooler released roughly 10 months ago proved to be very successful they didn't stop there and so recently they updated the AXP line with the AXP-200 which ended up on our test bench just less than a month ago.

Buona lettura.
Aircooling
Remember the legendary Thermalright XP-120? It gained recognition for
being one of the first heatsinks to tame the heat from Intel's notorious
Presshot (sorry I meant Prescott) processors. Even though many heatsinks
have overtaken it in terms of cooling performance, it still remained as a
popular option for HTPCs. Today, Thermalright has released the successor
to the XP-120, dubbed the AXP-140. Join VR-Zone in the unboxing of the
AXP-140!
Aircooling
There is no doubt that the AXP-140 does considerably better on Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad but if you are looking for a low profile and silent cooler for the Core i7 the Thermaright AXP-140 should be on your short list to check out.
Aircooling
Thermalright addresses a key issue of picking a cooler for an HTPC by taking their expertise in heatsink design and developing an enthusiast grade CPU cooler that can fit in to an HTPC case. The AXP-140 heatpipe CPU cooler would make a great cooler for just about any system, but because it is only 70.2mm high it is just the thing for keeping an HTPC running cool and quiet.
