Deepcool's IceEdge 400XT heatsink is a mid-size tower cooler that stands a modest 127mm high and weighs 585 grams. At its heart are four, 6mm diameter copper heatpipes and a 92x100mm stack of dark nickel plated aluminum fins. As with DeepCool's other heatsinks, the IceEdge 400XT ships with a novel rubber clad 92mm PWM fan. Every bit of the fan frame that makes contact with the heatsink is covered in a rubbery material so motor vibrations are greatly diminished. The 92mm DeepCool brand fan spins at 2200-900RPM and moves ~40CFM air according to the maker.

We tested Spire TherMax Eclipse CPU cooler, which has a tower design with five heatpipes and two 120-mm fans. Check it out!

Noctua's low profile NH-L9i heatsink stands 36mm tall so it will fit into the smallest of small form factor chassis. The NH-L9i is designed to cool Intel socket LGA115x (1155/1156/1150) processors only, which is a departure from the one-size-fits-all approach we're used to from heatsink manufacturers. The Noctua NH-L9i heatsink weighs 420 grams and is built around a large, triangular copper base plate, two 6mm diameter copper heatpipes and aluminum fins. Every part of this heatsink has been nickel plated so all the joints are soldered to maintain low thermal joint resistance.

Today, we reviewed the Cooler Master Blizzard T2 CPU cooler, which features a tower heatsink, two "dual loop" 6 mm heatpipes, and one 92 mm fan. Let's see if this "compact" cooler performs well.

Is it an improvement from the past even if the specs don't say so? Let's see how the testing goes.

It's like the stock market," explains one of my friends. "Sometimes it's up, and sometimes it's down. Sometimes, it even goes into a recession." In life, there are always certain features of various types of goods and products that stand out as what one considers good or bad. But before we decide or even get into our review today, let’s take a quick example to put things into perspective. One time, I walked into a conversation between two friends, in which they were talking about durians. To one of them, from his cultural background, durians are one of the tastiest fruits on the face of this earth. No matter what horrible things other people say about the durian, it is still the best. My other friend, however, detests durians with his life. Now, imagine a hedgehog -- you know, that cute animal with spikes on its back? For whatever reason, I've always associated objects looking like other objects, and the image of a hedgehog looking like a durian somehow pops into my mind. As some may see it, hedgehogs are one of the cutest animals around. Its face and how it puffs its spikes into a ball just makes it adorable. On the flip side, others are disgusted by its spikes, because it pokes whatever that comes near it. Whether you like the hedgehog for its looks or the durian for its tastes is really up to you, but the fact is that both of these objects are pointy and are good at being what they are. When I was asked to do another review on a heatsink -- specifically speaking, the SilenX Effizio EFZ-120HA5 -- many thoughts ran through my head. At first glance, its appearance looks quite decent, but getting down to its cooling ability while living up to its 'SilenX' name is another story. Is it good at being what it is? Read on to find out!

CyberPower has a sister company called XtremeGear and for nearly a year now they have been starting to get into some of the component business – keyboard, mouse, and coolers. Today we look at the Xtreme Cooler HP-1216 that offers comparable performance to some of the other big name coolers on the market. It has 5 direct touch heatpipes and the ability to do a push and pull fan set up, so it might be able to keep up against other brands!

On the test bench today is a new dual 120mm fan heatsink from Evercool called the Transformer 4 HPJ-12025. Its twin fans are arranged in a push-pull configuration and rotate at a leisurely 1000RPM. The Transformer 4 heatsink is intended to be a quiet under power, using two fans to quietly do the job of one. As you'll see shortly, the Transformer 4 succeeds in this regard with a real world noise footprint under 40 dBA.
