Zugegeben, die Namenswahl ist in jeder Hinsicht gewöhnungsbedürftig und DSDS Zuschauer werden sich möglicherweise vor Vergnügen auf die Schenkel klopfen. Aber abseits dieser Polemik geht es de facto um eine verbesserte Version des Megahalems Erfolgsmodell, nach dem Mega Shadow, dem Megahalems Rev.B und dem Armageddon also sozusagen der Megalems Mark IV. Augenscheinlich wurden einige der Lamellen-Außenbezirke durch Kupferexemplare ersetzt, darüber hinaus kann der Anwender auf zwei verschiedene Befestigungsschraubentypen zurückgreifen, um den Anpressdruck zu variieren.
A lot has been made of the high TDP’s of Intel’s i7 range of processors, only surpassed by the 140W TDP of AMD’s Phenom II X4 965 BE, requiring more cooling especially when at overclocked settings. In terms of air cooling, many of the smaller designs just can’t cope with the heat demands of the i7’s and so the larger heatsinks with more fins, surface area and heat pipes have been left to fight it out to see which cooler performs best.
ZEROtherm boasts this cooler can handle up to 200W of CPU load before it feels any ill effects. ZEROtherm did ship a fan along with my sample, and I was surprised to see they shipped a 43 CFM ZT-120F fan to cool the new entrant. I realize silence is a main concern for most, but a 40 CFM fan isn't typically capable of much real help in cooling a tower cooler. So, if in fact I can produce good results with said fan, it will prove that the cooler is indeed efficient.

All Noctua products use their familiar Blue-Brown and beige color palette, keeping in line with their renowned fans.
