The Cooler Master Storm Strike Force SF-19 appears no different in basic design from most other notebook coolers. It features a generally wedge-shaped base with some venting and fans housed inside, some rubber non-slip feet and a smattering of controls on either side. The Storm series of products is geared towards gamers and the SF-19 claims compatibility with up to 19" laptops. Additionally it supports USB 3.0 and offers some variable lighting effects.

Looking back in history, before I was born, and when dinosaurs still roamed the Earth in the prehistoric age of April 1981 (Well, dinosaurs were long extinct, but you get the point haha), the first successful portable computer was released -- namely, the Osborne 1 from, well, a company called Osborne Computer Corporation. It is hard to believe how fast technology has been progressing in the last thirty or so years. Laptop sizes get smaller and slimmer, internal components increase in efficiency and performance, and many other features of the notebook simply improve to various extents. But as these components become more powerful, there is one very important factor that is forgotten by many consumers, especially in the market of laptop gaming -- and that is heat output. Even though common healthy mainstream laptops are capable of cooling down themselves without external help, there's just that special breed of portable computers that simply isn't so... portable. We're talking about desktop replacement/gaming laptops. They're powerful, they're big, they're heavy, and they generate enough heat to keep your room cozy in the winter. Here is where Cooler Master just enters the scene and attempts to rectify this problem for people who own such systems. The company presents a laptop cooler that is able to support up to 19" laptops, and also features dual 140mm fans under the hood to move lots of air. Will the Cooler Master Storm SF-19 Strike Force be able to relieve problems associated with the massive heat-generating computers of laptop gaming enthusiasts? Read on to see what this cooler is really all about!

Cooler Master, in their quest to find new and better ways to appease the demands of gamers, have come up with some really unique designs and excellent implementation of features in their products. The product we are going to look at today is a perfect example of what can happen when good ideas come together with great styling, and enough options to customize the looks and performance of this new laptop cooler. Cooler Master goes way beyond just keeping the laptop off of your lap and offering a bit of circulation to the underside. With this, the idea was to maximize airflow to cool even the hottest of components while giving you a very attractive product.

One of the most recent laptop coolers/pads is the NotePal XL which features a redesign compared to the NotePal A200 we have taken a look over previously, is equipped with a larger 230mm fan and for connecting low power devices we have the option of using the integrated 3-port USB fan which is more convenient placed than before.

Learning from the past has allowed Cooler Master to improve upon an already successful design. The NotePal X2 is a next generation cooler modeled after the NotePal X1. Like the X1 this new model (R9-NBC-4WAK-GP) uses a unique body shape and a large central fan as the heart of its design. In addition to looking stylish the 'X' shape of the cooler actually contributes to cooling performance. In this review Benchmark Reviews analyzes the performance of the NotePal X2 as well as the role played the unique body composition.

We have a looked at a decent number of laptop coolers over the years; covering units that can be described as well designed and useful, to those that well, can't be described with such words. In this review we will take a look at the Cooler Master NotePal X2 laptop cooler to try to decide which category it fits in to.

We just got done looking at a notebook cooling solution with the NotePal U Stand. This is quite the laptop cooler; it offers all sorts of bells and whistles like extra USB ports and even a fully adjustable top to give you five angles to be able to use your laptop of choice. It's aluminum has great fans. I could go on for a while about this one, but I need to return to the task at hand and change gears into a more simple train of thought for the latest submission to our labs.
