As you can guess from their name, Silenx has built their reputation around quiet PC accessories. Their IXC-120HA2 CPU cooler easily lives up to this reputation by being, well, very quiet. Even with its modest fan speeds, this cooler did an excellent job of cooling the Q6600 during testing. That is, until I added some voltage and clock cycles. When your packaging boldly states, “designed for gamers and overclockers,” you'd better bring more performance to the table that the IXC-120HA2 does.

Cooler Master impressed me with their simple yet elegant D1. By no means is it a flashy notebook cooler with colored LED fans or multiple USB ports requiring a separate AC power supply. They went back to the basics and with a simple tweak of replacing the hard feet with a softer material, I think they would have come up with a huge winner. As it stands, the D1 is still a budget friendly notebook cooler that does the trick of what a 50 dollar cooler would do - keeping your notebook cool.

With multiple core CPUs, multi-GPU video graphics sub-systems and hotter than hot mainboard north and southbridge chipsets it becomes necessary for most gaming computers to have more and more fans. With the fans comes noise. Of course there's water cooling, but not everyone is capable or even brave enough to give that a try. So what do you do? Well one option is to use a fan speed controller. There are many fan controllers available but today Benchmark Reviews will look specifically at the NZXT SEN-001LX Sentry LX aluminum digital dual-bay fan controller.

We tested Thermaltake TMG IA1 CPU cooler, which has a "traditional" tower design with U-shaped heatpipes, but using an interesting shape on the heatsink fins. Let's see if this shape makes a difference in performance.

Kingwin's XT-1264 is the first tower-style heatsink to pass through the Frostytech test labs which incorporates asymmetrical "U" shaped heatpipes. In other words the heatpipes are not even, rather one length of each vertical heatpipe is 30mm shorter than the opposite.

The Scythe Big Shuriken is actually a really small heatsink, well not so much tiny as low profile. From the CPU to the top of the fan, the Big Shuriken measures a scant 57mm tall. That's not a whole lot of space to cram in a heatsink, but somehow Scythe have packed in four 6mm diameter heatpipes, 60 or 70 razor thin aluminum fins and a 120mm fan.

Cool Age, a company you’ve probably never heard of before, is starting to stir up some competition in the CPU Cooler market with their newly revealed X120TF heat sink. The Korean heat sink manufacturer has managed to develop a heat sink boasting 6 copper heat pipes and a unique fin design which Coolage call ‘Wind Tunnel Technology’. But is this CPU Cooler really all what it’s cracked up to be? Today we’ll find out in our review on the Coolage X120 Transform.
