On Frostytech's test bench today is the Silverstone Heligon HE01 (SST-HE01) heatsink, an interesting asymmetric dual tower CPU cooler built for Intel LGA2011/1366/1156/1155/775 and AMD socket AM2/AM3/FM1/FM2 processors. At the heart of the heatsink is a massive 140mm vaneaxial fan, flanked by differently sized fin stacks which correspond to intake and exhaust air flows. On the cool air-intake side of the fan is a 30mm thick fin tower with a straight row of heatpipes intersecting the fins.

On the hot exhaust side we find a slightly wider, 50mm thick fin tower constructed from slightly thicker aluminum fins.

The Silverstone Heligon HE02 is being sold as a passive heatsink for sub-95W TDP processors, so today on Frostytech we'll put this big, boxy, silent heatsink through its passive paces. No fans will be used in the testing, just good old noise-less convection cooling. We should note that wire fan clips are supplied for users who wish to add two 120mm fans. Silverstone's Heligon HE02 heatsink is made from a pretty common mix of nickel plated aluminum fins soldered to six 6mm diameter copper heatpipes. The heatpipes are capped off by a chunky nickel plated copper base plate. Noise wise, this is a completely silent passively cooled heatsink, which means you'd better have a case with lots of air vents.

SilverStone jumps in the twin tower CPU cooling game with some ideas of its own to dominate this segment by offering the Heligon Series HE01.
Aircooling
SilverStone tries its hand at a very large passive cooler with a 95W TDP and with fans you can go up to 150W. Let's see what the SST-HE02 can do.

The Nitrogon series gets a new cooling solution. Let me introduce the evolution of the NT06E, with our review of the new NT06-PRO.
Aircooling
SilverStone have created an extensive range of HTPC cases over the past few years and they have also developed CPU coolers to go with those. The NT01 Pro CPU cooler we have here today from SilverStone is a totally redesigned version of the older NT01-E CPU cooler. This cooler is designed to tackle the latest generation of processors in either active or passive modes. The design of the cooler is really something quite unique and yet strange, the NT01 Pro only takes 70mm or 80mm cooling fans so the amount of air you'll be able to move is going to be a lot less than 120mm CPU coolers.
