We recently looked at Be Quiet!’s flagship cooler, the Dark Rock Pro, and were impressed by the strong cooling performance and attractive appearance. Today, we are looking at one of their less expensive coolers in the Dark Rock range.

Spire annonce sur son site, chose intéressante pour ce modèle, que le Gemini a la possibilité de fonctionner avec ses deux ventilateurs, avec un seul ou en semi-passif si vous avez besoin de calme et que vous ne souhaitez pas de ventilateur. Voilà donc un modèle qui se veut offrir des prestations de haut vol : nous allons le soumettre à notre batterie de tests pour voir de quel bois il se chauffe !

This quote defines an effective business practice that has made many companies explode with growth. The NXZT HAVIK 140 is an example of a company stepping outside of its normal products range, and to produce something they have not produced before. Apple, for instance, probably would not have be where it is today if the iPod was never developed. Another example, if Ford had not used assembly line techniques for mass production, and provided inexpensive goods with high wages, the company wouldn't have been any better off than the other automotive manufacturers of its time. It isn't hard to see that doing something different or entering a new area can certainly provide benefits to both the company and the consumers. The question is, will the HAVIK 140 provide the same kind of benefits? Well, it wouldn't be fair to spoil that answer; you will just have to read on to find out. Now, before we move on, I keep asking myself what HAVIK means. Well, HAVIK is a homophone of the word 'havoc', so I guess you could say the NZXT HAVIK 140 will pillage the heat coming from your processor. However, havik is also Dutch for hawk, and I can't help but wonder if it will soar above the competition? Let's see about that!

The Zalman CNPS12X heatsink marks the first foray into exposed base heatpipe coolers for its Korean manufacturer. The other notable aspect of the CNPS12X is that it's equipped with not one, not two, but THREE low-RPM 120mm fans. Zalman's CNPS12X heatsink retails for around $80USD and happens to be the first Intel LGA2011 compatible heatsink to cross Frostytech's test bench! Something to keep in mind if your picking up an Intel X79 motherboard and socket LGA2011 Intel Sandybridge-E processor shortly.
Looking back into my files, I see it has been almost three years since I have looked at a cooler From Evercool. What is even better, is that the last cooler I looked at is the big brother to what we are about to see. Digging way back into the server, I was able to find the Transformer 4 that lends its name and a similar color theme, but that is really where the similarities stop in relation to the cooler we are about to have a look at. Where the Transformer 4 had four heat pipes and two fans, the newer version has less, but both keep the chromed 120mm fan to compliment the cooler.
