Remember the legendary Thermalright XP-120? It gained recognition for
being one of the first heatsinks to tame the heat from Intel's notorious
Presshot (sorry I meant Prescott) processors. Even though many heatsinks
have overtaken it in terms of cooling performance, it still remained as a
popular option for HTPCs. Today, Thermalright has released the successor

To alleviate heating issues, manufacturers have created slabs of aluminum called laptop cooling pads that go between you and the laptop, or between the laptop and desk. A cooling pad is essentially a flat surface with vents or fans embedded in the body. The sole purpose of a cooling pad is to promote better circulation across the base of a laptop. The Xigmatek Talisman is constructed from a big extruded aluminum slab which has been anodized black and ventilated across its surface. It contains two 70mm fans that rotate at 1500RPM.

Coolink ChipChilla is a large 6mm heat pipe cooler with a quiet 60mm fan which is created to solve today high end but burning chipsets. In all other regards Coolermaster's Hyper TX3 heatsink is a compact mid-level heatsink suitable for use on AMD socket 745/939/940/AM2/AM3 processors and Intel socket 775/1156 chips (not LGA1366 however). The Hyper TX3 heatsink weighs in at 470 grams, stands less than 140mm tall, and comes equipped with a low noise 92mm 800-2800RPM PWM fan that drives 17-54CFM according the manufacturer. The heatsink is built around three skinny 6mm diameter copper heatpipes that connect a small aluminum base to the 92x92mm tower of aluminum cooling fins.
Another CPU cooler from Thermaltake with direct heat base and good specifications. The included fan is not as powerful as we would like and the results weren't up to the competition. On the other hand is quiet but again the retail price is high enough.
