Noctua drops into the low profile and low power CPU cooling segment with the release of the 95W capable NH-L12 CPU cooler.

Arctic Cooling is a Swiss company dedicated to providing a variety of aftermarket cooling products and accessories from power supplies to remote control cars. The fans we tested in this article are all quite good and made from high quality materials. While they may not be the most powerful fans you can buy they do offer a good balance between cooling performance and overall noise.

In this review Frostytech will be testing Coolermaster's Hyper 212 Evo heatsink, an exposed heatpipe base tower cooler. Heatpipe direct touch, or exposed heatpipe base heatsinks are dead common these days because the technique has proven so effective. Particularly among the current crop of processors which feature integrated heat spreaders.

The Gaia from Xigmatek is in for testing today, we’ve all heard of Xigmatek, they came out of know where in 2005 with HDT (Heatsink Direct Touch) technology that not only performed well, but was very well priced too. The Gaia seems to be very similar to what we first saw from Xigmatek so we’ll see if the performance stacks up!

This is it people, summer is once again finally upon us and although the weather is getting hotter and hotter each day that goes by as usual people seem to be ok with that and focus mainly on going to the beach to get the usual skin tan while watching whatever it is they like to watch most. Unfortunately the summer period is also the worse period of the year for everything related with technology from cars, machines in general and electronics including our precious computer systems. Because of that Thermalright just released their latest and perhaps most powerful CPU Cooler to date, the Silver Arrow Extreme which we've been testing for the past week (we are also the first ones worldwide to thoroughly test it).

The NH-L12 from Noctua was a little surprise for me. I felt the little guy wouldn’t hold up to the heat. It did, and for users that have a smaller/narrower case and not interested in the least to overclock then the NH-L12 would be rather perfect. Top it off with Noctua’s 6 year warranty and awesome build quality, the NH-L12 has win all over it...

In this review Frostytech is testing out the Coolermaster Gemin II S524, a top-down heatsink that stands only 105mm tall and weighs a modest 594grams. Height is one of the other advantages of top-down coolers, this model is a good 50mm shorter than the average tower heatsink! The Coolermaster Gemin II S524 is compatible with Intel socket LGA1366/1155/1156/775 and AMD socket AM2/AM3/FM1 processors. The Gemin II S524 ships with a 120mm PWM fan mounted to its frame, but has holes to accept a 140mm fan in its place as well.

The time I’ve spent using the Thermaltake Frio OCK has yielded positive results. The Frio OCK was definitely able to handle the heat of a heavily overclocked Intel Core i5 2500k CPU with little to no trouble at all. The fans weren’t overly loud on any setting until they hit their maximum speed...

Noctua is well known for their excellent cooling products, when it comes to the enthusiast end of things Noctua knows what it's doing that's for sure. Many of Noctua's products are aimed at the high-end or enthusiast user who likes to overclock their systems and get the most out of them. Not everybody falls into that category though and they just want a decent cooling solution for their CPU, one that's quality made and one that's quiet. I for one prefer both in my systems with quiet being one of the more important things on my list of requirements for a CPU cooler. Making products for enthusiasts usually means big, but Noctua has recently introduced a cooler that's surprisingly not aimed at the enthusiast market, or at least not the overclockers out there anyway. The Noctua NH-L12 is a low-profile style cooler meant for smaller systems like small form factor or HTPC where space is quite limited. The NH-L12 is meant to keep your CPU cooler but yet keep things running quiet. Let's continue on...
