EVGA recently announced that they have begun to sell their NVIDIA GeForce GTX 400 Series High-Flow Video Card Exhaust Bracket that is said to lower GPU temperatures by up to 5C. Lowering your video card temperatures by up to 5C for under $10 doesn't sound like a bad idea. All you need to do is remove a few screws and the bracket can be switched out quickly without having to worry about voiding the cards warranty. The question that we have to figure out is if the NVIDIA reference design exhaust bracket really that restrictive?

Airflow is driven by a single 120mm PWM fan whose snow white 7-bladed impeller rotates at your basic 2200RPM to 800RPM. Noise output is moderate. Because computer enthusiasts tend to be picky bunch, Evercool have tossed in one extra set of wire fan clips.

The Evercool Venti is a value CPU cooler with a tower heatsink, four heatpipes, and one 120 mm fan. How does it perform? Let's find out.

While our CPU cooler reviews of late have mainly be concerned with high performance heatsinks, it is still important for us to remember that it is the budget offerings which sell the most and get used the most. That said, today we have a $30 heatsink courtesy of Evercool and it is their brand new Venti (HPQ 12025) CPU cooler. We already brought you the news of this product back in December last year, and promised we would have a review for you. Today, we duly deliver on that promise.

Today we are reviewing Turbo2 from Evercool, a low-cost VGA cooler with two heatpipes and an 80-mm fan. Check out its performance!

On the test bench today is a new dual 120mm fan heatsink from Evercool called the Transformer 4 HPJ-12025. Its twin fans are arranged in a push-pull configuration and rotate at a leisurely 1000RPM. The Transformer 4 heatsink is intended to be a quiet under power, using two fans to quietly do the job of one. As you'll see shortly, the Transformer 4 succeeds in this regard with a real world noise footprint under 40 dBA.
