One of the most recent laptop coolers/pads is the NotePal XL which features a redesign compared to the NotePal A200 we have taken a look over previously, is equipped with a larger 230mm fan and for connecting low power devices we have the option of using the integrated 3-port USB fan which is more convenient placed than before.
The battle for the high end cooling throne has reached fever pitch this year. The Noctua NH D14 ruled supreme for a long time, although it recently had to make way for a new king, the Phanteks PH-TC14PE. Today we are looking at the latest flagship cooler from Thermaltake, The Frio Extreme. Is this a serious challenger for the top spot?
Prolimatech make some of the biggest and meatiest heatsinks on the market (such as the Genesis, Megahalems and so on) but today we have something relatively minuscule from Prolimatech in the form of the Panther CPU cooler. This is a quad 6mm heatpipe with a single 120mm red LED fan. It has been designed to be compact but high performance and it is targeted at the mid range user who values RAM compatibility. The Prolimatech Panther is not that far off your average tower heatsink CPU cooler at 161mm tall but is coming in at around £30 making it a very much value orientated option. It is also one of the very few Prolimatech CPU coolers to actually come bundled with a fan as they often provide only passive heatsinks and allow you to add your own fans.

With the relatively recent introduction of our new LGA2011 CPU Cooler database based on our primary Intel Core i7 3930k some of you have asked if it's possible for us to test some of the older coolers i reviewed a long time ago. With cars, a frequent trade-off buyers must consider is performance versus mileage. All other things being equal, higher performance cars generally use more fuel than lower-performance cars. There are ways to work around this: for example, reducing a vehicle's weight will improve both performance and mileage. CPU coolers make similar trade-offs: better performance is often accompanied by more noise, and the workaround is to make the cooler larger, since more metal dissipates more heat with a slower, quieter airflow. Thermaltake's new Jing CPU cooler attempts to hit the sweet spot of the performance/noise compromise, and Benchmark Reviews pits it against a collection of high-end air coolers and water coolers to see how it compares.
