The Katana 4 performs better than the Cooler Master Hyper T4 and Hyper TX3, both in terms of cooling and noise. The Scythe Ashura cools very well when its fan is turning at high speed, but it's also noisy. When the fan is at low speed, the cooler is completely quiet, but also cools poorly.

After previously testing the impressive Neptwin cooler from this brand, we received six more. A couple of these provide very good value for your money.

IPhobya are a big name that we would traditionally associated with water cooling products like radiators, yet water cooling needs fans to work so it isn't surprising that Phobya have an extensive range of fans to choose from. The fans we have today from Phobya cover a wide variety of usage scenarios with a Red LED fan, a slimline fan for space constrained systems and a Noiseblocker fan for a great compromise between noise and performance.
Phobya aren't a brand we have encountered much before here at eTeknix and in fact I am not sure if we have ever tested any of their products before. But today we have a trio of fans from Phobya in for review. First up we have the Phobya Nano-2G 12 PWM 1500RPM Red LED fan. Next we have the Phobya G-Silent 12 Slim Edition 1800RPM fan and finally we have the Phobya NB-eLoop 1600RPM Bionic fan. We will be giving these fans our usual treatment and conducting tests with them in push-pull to bring you comparable results of 11 120mm fans in total.
Without any further ado let us take a look around each fan, its packaging and contents before giving you a performance and acoustic summary.

Scythe delivers the Ashura, a user-friendly and compact heatsink that doesn't sacrifice performance.

VGA coolers are in my opinion becoming quite niche and almost extinct - particularly when it comes to air VGA coolers. This is because graphics card vendors have come a long way in terms of the cooling solutions they offer - ASUS' DC2, MSI's TF2 and EVGA's ACX to name but a few excellent cooling solutions. As a result it seems almost foolish to spend lots of money, time, effort and voiding your warranty to equip a custom VGA cooler. In terms of water blocks for graphics cards, these are still widespread because water cooling needs water blocks.
However, even with that quite gloomy stance on VGA coolers, air VGA coolers still have their place in the market. For example you may have bought a reference design graphics card and you just aren't happy with the temperatures or acoustics - or you may have bought at custom cooled one that doesn't cool the VRM and VRAM well enough or is just too big or long. This is where custom reference solutions like the Prolimatech MK-26 come in to play.
Prolimatech's MK-26 is one of the most impressive VGA coolers I have ever laid eyes on to date just on the basis of sheer size. It supports two 140 or 120mm fans, has six 6mm heat pipes and an extremely large and dense heatsink stack. I'm expecting great things from the Prolimatech MK-26.

Noctua has made a habit of delivering consistently top notch products without surprises, yet the NH-U14S and NH-U12S both share a very distinct one. While Noctua has outfitted the NH-U14S and NH-U12S with a very impressive array of features (8mm heatpipes with five on the 12S and six on the 14S, nickel plated copper pipes and base and aluminum fin array), it is the guaranteed RAM compatibility that surprises. Noctua has actually managed to pack all top air cooler traits into a configuration that allows for the use of taller RAM in all slots of current Intel boards without detracting from performance. Both coolers use Noctua’s latest fan designs which boast high air movement and static pressure with very limited noise, as well as PWM control. Both the 140mm of the NH-U14S and 120mm of the NH-U12S top out at 1500rpm at only 19.2 and 18.6 dBA respectively. The same SecuFirm 2 mounting kit is used on both, offering top quality components with easy and solid installation. All necessary hardware is included to add second fans for push/pull operation, as is a tube of top quality NT-H1 thermal interface material.

be quiet! are a brand that we believe are one of the best in the world, and based on their success in Germany as the leading power supply manufacturer, they also have a big focus on cooling products too. This stemmed from previous models including the Shadow Rock Pro and Shadow Rock Top Flow, as well as their amazing Dark Rock series of coolers and now their new Shadow Rock 2 CPU cooler.
The Shadow Rock 2 is a premium CPU cooler based on award-winning technology that be quiet! are known for by offering quiet operation and extremely high performance. Couple all of this with an amazing price point, you won’t be disappointed.
In terms of its high performance, you’ll find a total of four 8mm heatpipes and a 180W TDP allowing it to keep even the most extreme, overclocked CPU’s at a comfortable temperature level. With its specially designed cooling fins and 120mm be quiet! PWM based fan, even when working at its peak, the unit will remain almost silent with a 25.4dBA noise level at 100% fan load.
