Gelid Solutions are a company we have worked with in the past, we reviewed their excellent Icy Vision VGA cooler. The standard, in terms of my expectations have been set high because of that product, but we won't let pre-determined ideas get in the way of making a fair review. As usual we will be taking the Gelid GX-7 and judging it in terms of performance, acoustics, design, price and functionality (mainly ease of mounting).

Silverstone’s newest low profile offering, the NT06-Pro, packs a great amount of design and engineering into a very small physical form. Designed to meet the needs of SFF/HTPC builds, the Silverstone NT06-Pro stands a mere 83mm tall including the fan, but manages to get six 6mm heatpipes running through a copper base comfortably into that space. A horizontal aluminum fin array helps to dissipate the heat, while a 20mm slim 1000~2200 rpm 120mm fan handles the air movement chores. Unlike many slim fans we have seen, the Silverstone NT06-Pro fan is capable of ramping up to produce air movement similar to full width fans, topping out at 73.96 CFM. The NT06-Pro includes a versatile mounting kit compatible with Intel 775/1155/1156/1366/2011, as well as AMD AM2/AM3/FM1/FM2, with simple solid installation on both platforms.

C'est un vent chaud et sec en provenance d'Allemagne qui vient nous sécher les pattes, soufflé par le Gotthard d'Alpenföhn. La marque allemande, qui fait ses premiers pas au Comptoir, nous livre là un imposant top flow. Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas ce format, il s'agit d'un radiateur plat au travers duquel l'air frais est injecté par le haut et dont le principal avantage est son encombrement réduit (en hauteur surtout). Traditionnellement moins performant qu'un modèle au format tour, nous avions découvert le NH-C14 qui rattrapait alors cet écart de performances. Le modèle d'Alpenföhn nous propose trois zones de dissipation, six caloducs et un ventilateur de 140mm ; rien que ça pour tenter de semer la zizanie dans un secteur dominé par Noctua. Xigmatek aren't a brand known that well for their fans but they do actually delve quite a lot into the cooling market making a wide variety of CPU coolers and fans. Xigmatek are more well known for their cases of which we have tested many including recently the Asgard 381, Midgard II and Elysium.
The SilverStone HE02 is SilverStone’s first entry into the passive CPU cooler market and comes at a time where SilverStone has recently been releasing a number of new products in their CPU cooler lineup (a product line that sat dormant for a number of years before coming back to life). The HE02 is compatible with all current Intel and AMD platforms and also carries a very reasonable price for the true silence it offers.
