In recent years when people solicit my opinion about buying a computer they are increasingly asking about laptops as opposed to desktops. They are turning to laptops as an all-purpose computing, working, and entertainment platform. High-end graphics, 19" screens and gigabytes of of bits can generate serious amounts of heat. But the vast majority of cooling options for laptops are meant for smaller machines with smaller heat profiles. For serious cooling CM Storm released the Strike Force SF-19 dual fan 19" laptop cooler. Model SGA-6000-KKYF1 is like the HAF X for laptops. Read on to see how the SF-19 performs under the Benchmark Reviews tests.

We tested the Deepcool Ice Matrix 600, a CPU cooler with tower design, six "side-by-side" heatpipes and a 140 mm fan. Check it out!

What market leader Antec have created, is a fan designed to cool any component inside your case dependant on where you position it. They’ve called it the SpotCool, and they’ve made it so that you can point it at your CPU socket to aid on cooling your processor, or at your memory, Northbridge, Southbridge or many other places. The choices are endless and are completely up to the user, but does it work? Will we see a significant difference by using it? Lets find out shall we!

If Zalman's new 5X cooler comes to market at the promised $30 pricepoint, this cooler is a very good value. It handled the Q6600 processor and its high thermal output with ease and even at 1400 RPM easily beat the OEM solution in near silence. With support for older Intel and AMD sockets, this cooler would make an excellent replacement for a borked OEM cooler or a good choice when added to a new CPU that doesn't come with a cooling device.

Today we have a cooler from the award winning Noctua. The NH-C14 is a C-Type cooler meaning it takes up a lot less space above the CPU than the usual tower type coolers while also providing airflow over nearby motherboard components and RAM modules. Included are two of Noctua's NF-P14 FLX fans. It's an impressive package but can it live up to expectations? We'll soon find out.

Quickly find the best CPU thermal solution for compact, microATX, media, HTPC, and slim computer cases by consulting Frostytech's Top 5 Low Profile heatsink charts. Sorted into categories for heatsinks measuring less than 154mm, 110mm, 75mm or 45mm tall, Frostytech ranks the best compact CPU coolers available by thermal performance and quietest operation.

Standing just 45mm tall, the Evercool HPL-815 is a low profile heatsink suited for use in 2U thick computer cases. It's equipped with a top mounted 80x80x15mm PWM fan that rotates at speeds of 4000-1000RPM, exhausting air downwards into a 23mm tall array of quilted aluminum fins. In fact, of all the sub-60mm low profile heatsinks Frostytech has tested the HPL-815 ranks 7°C cooler (at 4000RPM fan speed) than the next best thermal solution.

This time we've tested a low profile CPU cooler from Arctic Cooling: the Freezer 11 LP. It has two heatpipes and a 92 mm fan. Let's check its performance!
