The OMNI A.L.C. is an interesting no-maintenance GPU cooling solution from CoolIT; it features an interposer, which can be changed depending on the video card we are using, without the need to replace the whole product.

I took a look back to see just how long ago it had been since we took a look at the original FLC-3000, and to my surprise, it had been quite some time. In fact, it was one of the first coolers I reviewed for TweakTown, so that might be why I was a little fuzzy on the January of 2009 date. From what I can recall going back over the review, the cooler performed pretty good in its day, but by today's standards, and much warmer processors, the FLC-3000 needed some love to keep pace. So Nexus went to the drawing board and rehashed an older work horse to compete with the demand.

In this review Frostytech is testing the Apack Zerotherm ZT-10D, a dark nickel plated tower heatsink that is capable of mounting one or two 120mm fans in a push-pull configuration. Taking a page out of the Thermalright handbook, the Zerotherm ZT-10D does not include a fan of its own. You must supply your own. Standing 160mm tall, the Zerotherm ZT-10D heatsink somehow manages to squeeze in six 8mm diameter heatpipes, packed edge-to-edge at the copper base plate and piercing the nickel plated fins in small arc.

Frostytech is not going to waste your time by leaving the most important information till the very end of this review - the Nexus VCT-9000 heatsink is an interesting looking thermal solution, but it fails completely in its execution. Nexus have manufactured the VCT-9000 heatsink poorly, resulting in uneven exposed heatpipes that may not contact the processor properly. The heatsink does not perform very well as a result, so the rest is pretty much moot. It's a critical flaw that no heatsink can afford make, undermining all other potential innovations and leaving us with a 635g hunk of metal good for the scrap bin.

Cooler Master’s CM Storm SF-19 is a top shelf gaming laptop cooler that really delivers the goods in every aspect of its intended niche. Good cooling performance backed up with a rich feature set, including a USB 3.0 hub, fan control and innovative lighting effects make this an outstanding focused product for the mobile gamer.

Noctua is known for their near silent fans, and the high build quality. The new NH-C14 we are looking at today is a top down cooler with twin 140mm NF-P14 fans and supports all of todays popular CPU sockets. Join us as we put the new NH-C14 on our Intel Core i7-930 processor test system at both stock and overclocked speeds!

Standing just 45mm tall, the Evercool HPL-815 is a low profile heatsink suited for use in 2U thick computer cases. It's equipped with a top mounted 80x80x15mm PWM fan that rotates at speeds of 4000-1000RPM, exhausting air downwards into a 23mm tall array of quilted aluminum fins. In fact, of all the sub-60mm low profile heatsinks Frostytech has tested the HPL-815 ranks 7°C cooler (at 4000RPM fan speed) than the next best thermal solution.
