Keeping your computer cool should be one of your number one priorities when building or maintaining your system, but sadly for a lot of people it isn’t. Many people are more than happy with the stock fans that come with their cases, and sometimes they just don’t do the job and even worse they don’t do the job and they’re loud on top of it. Just because a fan is loud doesn’t mean it’s moving the amount of air it could be to keep your system cool. Up for review today I have one of Noctuas latest fans, the NF-A14 FLX, which is a 140mm fan and the FLX stands for Flex where the fan can be run at three different speeds depending on your needs and/or preferences. The NF-A14 makes a great fan for cooling your case or system or it can be used with a radiator where you need to move the largest amount of air to make sure things are cool. So read on to learn more about the fan and see how it performs…

Recently, Noctua released some updates to the NF-P14 fan in the form of not one, but three new models; the NF-A15 PWM, NF-A14 ULN and NF-A14 FLX. Each fan offers something slightly different than the other, such as the ability to mount in 120mm vs. 140mm fan mounting holes, or different speed/silence options. I was a big fan of the original NF-P14, which still sees use on my CPU cooler today, so I have high expectations that these new fans will bring me some noticeable upgrades to the series.

Noctua’s new NF-A Series of fans blends legendary Noctua features, such as AAO Frame with Stepped Inlet Design and Flow Acceleration channels for the utmost in quiet performance, with some new twists and specializations. The NF-A Series 140mm fans come in three very unique models, the NF-A15 PWM, NF-A14 FLX and NF-A14 ULN. The NF-A15 PWM features a rounded 140x150mm frame with 120mm mounting points and 300~1200rpm operation, making it ideal for use on CPU coolers. The NF-A14 pieces use the standard square frame and 140mm mounting, along with 3-pin connections making them more suitable for use in cases and radiators.
