We tested Noctua NH-C12P, an horizontal CPU cooler with six heatpipes and a 120 mm fan. Will it provide a performance similar to ts "brother" NH-U12P?
Noctua has a go at top down CPU cooler, the NH-C12P comes with a 120mm fan while the SE14 adds a massive 140mm fan to this unit. Does it stand a chance against popular tower coolers for sale today? Let's find out.
Today we are looking at their NH D14 cooler which is quite honestly one of the largest coolers I have ever seen. Noctua have designed this product to have not one, but two rows of aluminum cooling fins rising from the coolers base. Each of these has a dedicated fan to keep them cool – with probably one of the most intelligent airflow designs we have seen in recent years. Each of these cooling banks is created from 42 individual fins and although they are relatively wide in regards to spacing, the surface area is massive which should more than compensate.
Regular readers of KitGuru will already know that the Noctua NH D14 is always at the center of our high end system builds, especially when it comes to overclocking articles. Today we are looking at the NH C14, a dramatic design combining two 140mm fans, in a stack based air flow system, demanding a height clearance of just 130mm.
Noctua are one of our favourite companies when it comes to high end cooling and it would be accurate to say that their NH D14 ‘Austrian Sandwich’ shattered all our preconceptions of just what can be achieved on air.

The Noctua NF-S12B FLX 120mm Fan is the latest release in a series of popular fans designed for the noise conscious system builder from the Austrian specialist company Noctua. A previously small niche company synonymous with low noise fans has recently grown to prominence due to their high performance NH-D14 dual radiator heatsink which took the market by storm. This single product has given the company exposure to the performance enthusiast market that Noctua was never really targeted in the past.
Generally I'm a big fan of international products. My favorite band is from Finland, my favorite television personality is from Scotland, and my favorite actor is from England. It seems that things made in the USA these days don't really last as long as they used to. Of course, if Toyota keeps things up the way they have been, no one will buy import again. But when it comes to air movement, Noctua has more than set the standard for why we should buy from overseas.
