NoFan have unleashed the CR-95C; a fully passive and silent cooler, but can it keep up with Ivy Bridge's temperatures?

Back to the reason we are here, the CPU cooler that almost beat me to my door. Daniel said he was going to get right on it, and he is a man of his word, obviously! This time ARCTIC is delivering a cooler that while producing better than stock results, will deliver cooling to your system with a very low noise level emanating from this cooler. On top of that, the cooler has a stylish white on black coloration on the front of natural aluminum and copper. Nothing too far from the normal scheme from ARCTIC, but I will let the test do the talking before I make any assumptions.
The newest of CPU coolers, the ARCTIC Freezer i30 and a30 coolers are built system specific. Today we will be looking at the Intel version, or the Freezer i30 model. This aluminum finned cooler with four 8mm diameter heat pipes offers direct touch to the CPU IHS with these generously sized heat pipes.

In the thermal solutions market, the name Noctua is a highly respected one that is synonymous with a very high build quality and great performance. Their product base is fairly limited though with a total of three different heatsinks but when you can produce products such as the NH-U12P and NH-C12P, you don’t exactly need a huge selection.

All CPU coolers promise effective CPU cooling, but how each one manages their goal can vary wildly. One may be super-quiet but be the size of a car, while another may be modest-sized but sound like a jet engine. The Frio OCK and Jing from Thermaltake aren't so extreme, but make a perfect case for noise vs. size vs. cooling performance.

Today HardwareHeaven take a look at Akasas Freedom Tower CPU cooler. The Freedom Tower is a high performance product which is designed to combine exceptional thermal performance with silent operation and an attractive design

Not everyone wants to spend a small fortune buying the fastest processor sold, simply for the promise of factory-made speed. Overclockers are quite the opposite; they're known for taking a more affordable model and making make it into a CPU comparable to the top products. Overclocking can mean exerting additional performance from computer hardware, or it can be a hobby for anyone who likes to tweak settings the same way that some people wrench on cars. But like any race car, the high-performance computer requires the right components to keep it operating at peak condition. Heat is the problem, and overclocked processors generate plenty of it. CPU cooler heatsinks are the answer, and the Xigmatek Aegir SD128264 is the latest product to promise outstanding thermal efficiency and ease of installation. Benchmark Reviews tests the double-layer HDT design of the Xigmatek Aegir SD128264 against the best heatsinks in the industry, using both silent and ! high-output fan combinations.

There are a couple aspects that go into making the Zipang 2 unique, but let's start with the basics. The Scythe Zipang 2 (SCZP-2000) heatsink features six 6mm diameter copper heatpipes, "multiple airflow pass-through" aluminum fins, a copper base plate and a mammoth 140mm PWM fan that spins at a leisurely 1000 RPM. The heatsink weighs in at 715 grams and stands just 105mm high. That squat height means it competes well against the multitude of +150mm tall tower heatsinks which are too big for a great many PC cases out there. The fan has 11 impeller blades and is rated for 51.4 CFM.

Today we get to take a look at one of Deepcool’s cooling solutions which hopefully will keep the reputation the company has built with daily users, gamers, and overclockers going strong. Introducing the Gamer Storm Assassin. The Assassin is a high CPU cooler that caters to the more hardcore crowd of PC users that want to keep their CPU’s as cool as possible without going the water cooling, or liquid nitrogen route. The cooler comes with two optional fans: One 140mm, and the other 120mm. Both fans can be mounted together on the Assassin to provide additional heat dispersion, and the cooler supports a variety of sockets from both Intel, and AMD.

Thermaltake's ISGC-100 is a low profile low noise heatsink for small and compact PC chassis. Three 6mm diameter copper heatpipes ensure good thermal conduction from the base to the fins of the 70mm tall heatsink. A 92mm PWM fan scales in speed from 600-1600RPM, directing airflow down through the horizontal aluminum fins of the heatsink. In real world terms the ISGC-100 heatsink ranges from moderately audible to completely silent.
