Noctua is proposing the top-air NH-C14 for your system, promising to offer high cooling efficiency and quiet operation, in a compact and a smart customizable design that can easily fit in your system

CPU coolers have always come in many flavours from various companies. A typical style has recently immerged for the use of huge heatsinks with fans mounted on one side, in the middle, or both sides. They usually have some form of heat pipes attaching the heatsinks to the copper base. The Evercool Buffalo is no exception to this template of design but might be more of a budget CPU cooler.

Evercool's original Transformer 4 CPU cooler, with its dual 120mm fans, 8mm copper heatpipes and direct touch design should have been a top performer in the CPU cooling market. It wasn't. The newer Transformer 4 PLUS, with its higher speed PWM fans performs much better and adds socket 1156 support into the mix. In fact, the cooling is quite good and even has the cooling muscle to support some moderate overclocking.

I have always considered Thermaltake to be one of the premier manufacturers of cases and cooling products; even though I haven't always been a fan of all of their products. With the loud design of many products entering the market today, it seems that there has been a lack of balance between the design and the function, whereas the function doesn't say as much about the performance as the appearance does. Thermaltake thinks they can regain some of my confidence by enticing me, the enthusiast, with a CPU cooler that claims it can do the job and looks like it should be able to without the zany design elements some have chosen to opt for over functionality

Today we'll focus on a top-end cooler from Noctua — NH-C14. It boasts of impressive design, bundle and build quality. Of course, a combination like this doesn't come cheap, and NH-C14 is quite expensive. But it offers you performance for every cent you spend.

Today we test the most high-end heatsink from Noctua. It comes with two fans pre-equipped and will fill up all but the largest eATX cases. Dubbed the NH-D14 this beast comes with a 120mm AND 140mm fan which are spec'ed for low noise operation. Can it handle the heat of an overclocked Core i7? Time to find out.

The Arctic NC is no doubt a nice product as you’d expect from Arctic. It does a decent job at cooling down a hot laptop. Its lightweight construction allows it to be portable which is always a plus. However, I am not a fan of the ergonomics of how it works. The need to rest just part of your laptop on it makes for a very unstable set-up; it has to be used on a flat surface and with care to prevent disaster.

Evercool seems to have hit upon a good cooling design with the HPK-10025EA. Finally a small, low profile cooler has arrived that can really perform better than the OEM unit without breaking the bank. Available online for as little as $25 US, this little heatsink is a very good value, provided you don't expect too much of it, wattwise.
