One of my favorite products are NAS boxes, I’m not sure exactly why. I think it’s the fact that they’re just so useful. NAS boxes are much better than just an external hard drive ever could be that’s for sure. Thecus is a company that’s well known for their NAS systems, they make some of the best on the market. They’ve recently introduced a new line of NAS servers called XXX, the X’s stand for Xtreme Power, Xtreme Function and Xtreme Value. Today for review I’ve got the latest NAS server from Thecus called the N2200XXX, so let’s just get into it as we’ve got a lot to cover.

Today we are going to look at a very impressively designed drive caddy which can convert both 2.5 inch mechanical and solid state drives into RAID arrays. It is also built to withstand serious abuse and to fit inside a standard 3.5 inch drive bay. If you have several older drives gathering dust then this might just be the performance boost you need for a new system build.

OCZ busts out the big guns with the Max IOPS editions of the Vertex 3 SSDs. From the outside, they pretty much the same as the other Vertex 3 drives save for the "Max IOPS" verbiage on the front sticker. The real difference lies beneath the exterior shell with some hardware changes that have a significant impact on performance. Just how much we'll bear out in the testing but let's just say that it does not disappoint.

Most solid state drive (SSD) manufacturers make their drives with a standard set of capacities with the most popular being 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. Intel is the exception to this rule, as they produce their SSDs in more varied capacities from 40 GB to 600 GB. Today we are going to look at a 320 Series 160 GB SSD from Intel which will give you a little more space than the 128 GB drives that most manufacturers offer.

Intel is a company best known for their high-performance computer processors and motherboards, yet they're considered leaders in several different technology sectors. Solid State Drive technology is one particular market segment that has plenty of fresh competition, fighting for both retail consumer and corporate enterprise dollars. In this article, Benchmark Reviews tests the Intel SSD 320 series solid state drive, which includes 25nm Intel MLC NAND Flash memory and Enhanced power-loss data protection. Speed and response time for the Intel SSD 320 is compared to several other competing storage solutions, demonstrating which SSD product delivers the best value for the money.

It might not seem like SSDs have been around very long, but OCZ has been a pioneer in the technology for almost four years already. They've traditionally offered several different options for performance enthusiasts, from economic yet responsive storage to premium high-speed enthusiast solid state drive solutions. While their Vertex series deliver the fastest SSD's available, the more affordable Agility family accommodates cost-conscious builders and comes available in 60-240GB capacities. In this article, Benchmark Reviews tests the OCZ Agility 3 SSD, model AGT3-25SAT3, which is based on the SandForce SF-2281 SATA 6GB/s controller and IMFT-branded async-NAND flash components.

Today we are looking at a drive which OCZ hope will find a slightly more value orientated place in the market, the Agility 3. Based on the same controller as the Vertex 3 range we still get the same great features however the other internal components have been tweaked slightly. We will be putting the drive through a selection of tests to find out how it compares to one of the main competitors, the Intel 510 Series.
