The Kingston DT Workspace USB 3.0 Flash Drive is a ‘LSI SandForce Driven’ SSD that can start it’s own OS on any computer, compliments of the new Microsoft Windows 8 Enterprise Windows to Go (WTG) environment. As of today, technology has taken us to a place where it simply isn’t necessary to be stuck to a single system, or lug around a laptop any longer. WTG allows your system, on USB, to go where you go and start from just about any computer. Our review today is going to provide a bit of a background of Windows 8 Enterprise Windows To Go and, more importantly, we hope to provide a glimpse of the Kingston Data Traveler Workspace Flash Drive that even Kingston would never have expected, not to mention some great benchmarks.

Having published our report on why the 2013 MBA just may be the best ultra in the world earlier today, we couldn’t resist following up with this report on the new PNY storEDGE 64GB SD Card, a card designed to fit flush in newer model MacBooks. The card is available in capacities of 64 and 128GB and looking at the way it sits in a MBA, we just had to wonder why this hasn’t been thought of sooner.

Inside of the box we find a USB 3.0 cable, a USB power adapter, instruction manual, software, and the enclosure itself. The Gauntlet features a very nice black aluminum finish. It has a bit of a heft to it, but it really feels solid in the hand. I suspect it could take quite a beating and still protect the drive inside - well, more so with a solid state drive than a traditional spinning disk. The top of the enclosure displays the Gauntlet logo with the Patriot logo on the front.

Corsair is no stranger to Myce’s members. Corsair has a wide product range, including PSUs, RAM, Cases, USB flash drives, AIO liquid coolers and many other high quality PC components. In this review I will be looking at their latest SSD, the Force LS.Corsair’s latest SSD is only available in Europe in three capacities, 60GB, 120GB, and 240GB which I will be reviewing.
Myce members will probably remember the review that Wendy did back in 2012 for the Neutron GTX SSD, again Corsair is looking at things in a different way, instead of using the SandForce controller they decided to use the Phison controller for the heart of their Force LS SSD and 19nm NAND from Toshiba to make an SSD that will come at an affordable price and at the same time try to get the maximum speed of the drive.
The Corsair Force LS SSD is a 2.5 inch drive, with a height of 7mm, which makes it compatible with any Ultrabook. The Force LS is SATA 6 GB/S and backwards compatible, with a three year warranty. As with most SSDs the numbers are measured with ATTO, and when it comes to ATTO tests, you should see figures reaching read speeds of 560MB/Sec and write speeds of up to 535MB/Sec for the 240GB SSD, but later on this review we will have the opportunity to have a more detailed look at the performance of the Force LS SSD.
You can visit Corsair’s website to have a look at the facts and figures, and also spend some time looking at their wide range of high quality PC components, such as PSUs, Cases, RAM, SSD’s and many more can be found here.

The Buffalo TeraStation 5200 is a fast NAS with a solid chassis, combined with a practical display. It also comes with nice features such as iSCSI, a link to Amazon S3 and an integrated connection to security cameras, all of which make it an interesting business-oriented NAS device. The ability for remote access via BuffaloNAS.com is also interesting for business users, and home users as well. For the latter, DLNA Squeezebox Server and Bittorrent are welcome features.

When QNAP went high-end last year with 10GbE capability, they left an opening for lower cost units designed for true small office environments. The x69 Series fills that gap while still offering high drive count NAS products, but reduces some of the enterprise features only used in large office environments.

Verdict maintenant.
