The holidays are past us and hopefully you're left with a wad of cash in your checking account after depositing all of the checks received because no one understands what the items are on your wish list. OCZ has a worthy upgrade if you're ready for ultimate PC performance.

With generation 3 guidelines for the 6.0 GBps SATA interface already being used in prototype motherboards for show at the not-so-distant 2010 CES in January, it's understandable to see the speeds of Solid State Drive products increase so quickly with each new model. The Indilinx Barefoot controller has become the backbone chip for over a dozen different SSD models, first introduced in the OCZ Vertex SSD, and now make a return appearance in the OCZ Vertex Turbo SSD series.

Seagate recently announced the release of the Barracuda XT in a 2TB flavor and what is remarkable is that it comes in the new SATA III pushing the standard to 6GB/s. The XT promises to bring with it all new records in speed and storage capability. We think the Barracuda XT couldn't get much better unless they wrapped it in bacon.

Overclockers around the world use Corsair memory kits for their high-speed performance. Similarly, Corsair SSD storage products have continued this tradition. The Corsair Nova V128 CSSD-V128GB2-BRKT is an Indilinx-ECO Solid State Drive kit that designed to deliver 270 MB/s maximum read speeds and offer 195 MB/s writer performance. In this article, Benchmark Reviews tests ACHI speeds for the Corsair Nova-series V128 SSD against the fastest SSDs available.

NAS or Network Attached Storage solutions are becoming a much more widely used device for businesses as well as inside the home. Within the corporate environment, the slot for a centralised data source has been filled in many instances by NAS storage allowing users to remotely access files and data.

Most of us use a USB pen drive on some level or another, whether it is to keep offline document backups or to move files between work and home machines. Today we are looking at the new Kingston Data Traveler Ultimate 64GB drive which is the first USB 3.0 pen drive we have tested.

Today we are taking a look at the StarTech mSATA to 2.5" SATA enclosure. With this, you are able to run an mSATA drive in a PC that only supports standard SATA. And because it is a 2.5" form factor, you can mount it just like a regular drive.

With most SSD manufacturers focusing on transfer speeds by choosing the incredibly fast SandForce SF-22xx SATA III controller for their latest solid state drives Apacer has decided on taking the price/performance path by sticking with their award winning previous generation SF-1222 controller.
