The Nobility Series NH01 External HDD, is an interesting backup/data transfer solution from ADATA, using USB 3.0, but also fully USB 2.0 compatible. The enclosure has a professional look and the product itself is excellent for people that are frequently on the go.

Last January at CES I was introduced to a new form factor of 2.5” drives. Seagate was developing the drive for an ASUS netbook, but promised the 7mm height would be adapted by other netbook makers before the end of the year. Seagate’s Momentus Thin wasn’t the first 7mm drive I had worked with, the Intel SSD products were also this same height, but Seagate was the first to shine a spotlight on these amazingly thin drives.

Another flash drive? You're probably sick of seeing flash drive reviews that basically show a slow device with a moderate capacity. This is different. The Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate is a new USB3 version with write speeds of 60MB/s and reads of 80MB/s. This is more like a SSD than a flash drive.

Synology released a few new NAS boxes yesterday and today I’ve got the DS211 for review. The DS211 features the new DSM3.0 operating system which makes life much easier when you’re trying to work with it. The new interface, for lack of a better description, is similar to Windows really, it allows you to open several things at once to multi-task. The DS211 is meant to be more of a budget minded NAS box that provides all of the features of higher cost boxes but just at a lower price really. So read on to learn more about it.

The idea of storage over an expansion slot isn't new, as RAM-based hard drives have been around for several years, although popularity has been virtually non-existent and prices were astronomical. OCZ has rejuvenated this idea recently with the release of their Z-Drives and RevoDrive PCI-Express solid state drives. Today we will be taking a look at the latter to see if it's a better option than a traditional 2.5” SSD for desktop environments.

We all have products that use the Secure Digital Cards. SD has been adapted by nearly all consumer product makers in one form or another. Which form is another story entirely, as there are so many and within each category there are speed ratings. Some devices need to be able to operate above a certain speed to be able to handle the tasks given. This is where the class structure comes in.

There are occasions where you need to transport information of a sensitive nature while not worrying if it gets into the wrong hands. For that reason, many companies have created flash drives with a focus squarely being on security. We at ASE Labs have reviewed such products in the past, but the Imation Defender F200 Biometric Flash Drive is the first one we have seen that forgoes using traditional password encryption. Instead, it uses a fingerprint scanner to protect your data.

The more hard drive space we get the more we seem to fill it up. Drives that we thought we'd never fill are brimming with data. Western Digital hopes to give you more room to store important things, like funny cat pictures, with their new 3TB drive. So does the new 3TB Caviar Green Drive live up to its predecessor? Read on to find out.
